  • 2009 MVC Prediction for Shockers

A few have been fortunate to see a some pickup games and we are starting to get excited. However nobody is sticking their neck out about being good next year. Here is your chance in secret to say where the Shockers will finish in the MVC regular season. Let's not have any too early to know stuff. Take a guess based upon what info you have or just your gut feeling if need be.

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

No need for secrets, I anticipate a finish in the 4-6 place range. At least that is what be gut instinct is telling me – I have not looked at the other MVC schools, yet. However, I voted for 4th because I am in a good mood.

I debated with myself over 3rd and 4th. I like being optimistic :D This team could challenge if things fall into place. I think at this point you have to consider Creighton as the favorite. They return more talent than anyone else I believe and have also brought in some good talent. SIU lost quite a bit, but we always say that. And they also brought in a good class. ISU has O so they have to be a threat. They've also brought in some good kids. UNI will probably be better than some think. They could be solid. The other ISU I think is heading in the right direction but I don't think this is thier year. Same with MSU and thier new leader. Watch out for the Bears down the road.

Anyway, I love our talent and think we will definitely compete with a very talented, yet young league. I'm not expecting a first place finish, but I won't be surprised if we're in the hunt either. Then again, we could finish lower as well. But it'll be fun to watch!

I picked 4th. I think early, because of inexperience, we might lose some we shouldn't. However, I think the true season could be measured the 2nd time we see each Valley team.

Ah, the optimism of youth ----- I picked 5th, for no other reason than that is a big improvement over 9th. Now, would I be disappointed if we finished higher -- yeah, I would be (NOT). However, if we don't finish in the top three or four, I bet Marshall and Company will be disappointed.

I think that we should apply for membership in the NBA.

I went with my traditional vote of 8th place.

Of course, it all depends on the kids and how fast they grow up.

                        Maybe 3rd and maybe 8th.

By February, it will not be fun for the opponents in Koch Arena.

Being an optimist, I picked 4th. And being a pessimist, I likewise did the same.

Are we talking about the Valley or the Nation?

Put me down for #1 in both.
