      Well put, RDR.

With only a few notable exception, don't look back.

Speaking of basketball, while at was leaving the Chuck today we saw Gross and Grant talking with a family and noticed what appeared to be a young man that went about 6'3" or 6'4". I'm gonna have to start going through all the recruiting news to see if I can identify him or not. Or if someone else is already on top of it and knows they can fill us in.

Also, I guess Marshall was spotted by one of my partners showing some people around during one of our games this afternoon. He was all decked out in his best gear.

Having that tourney at the chuck and in the area only helps out Marshall with recruiting. The coaches can evaluate certain players and get a feel for talent too. Even if the best typically play AAU.

Why don't they host an AAU tourney here? That would surely help with recruiting, wouldn't it?

Recruiting, I guess, is in full swing now. The elite camp is coming up and I'm sure there will be much more news in the near future about recruits (Trop, that is aimed at you :) )

Is there even an AAU team based out of Wichita? Or do the Wichita-area kids play for KC teams?

My friend and I got see the 1st team scrimmage this
afternoon. All the new players were there except Torry Murry( Who will arrive tonight). We were witness to the 1st two dunks at the Chuck by EO. He is very athletic but is very raw and needs to be more aggressive. That said, I was very impressed.
Clev and Reggie both showed that they can shoot the rock from anywhere. Both showed nice pull up jump shots off the dribble. David Kyles is the young man Subgod saw with his family. This young man is very long and lead athletic and is a good shooter. Garret Stutz was really impressive in all phases the game. Show very good descisions with the ball. I don't want to comment to much since this was their 1st time together and everyone seemed to be having a good time. All in all it looks like it will be a very enertaining season.......I can't wait.

This week there will be Basketball Camps during the day and I assume that the team will scrimmage sometime shortly after that.

Was that really Kyles? I know I didn't get a great look but the pic I've seen on Rivals didn't quite look like him. Although, in my defense I was quite tired by that point :D

I've been saying for a few years that I wished WSU/Wichita hosted some sort of AAU tournament. It definitely couldn't hurt recruiting.

I believe June is a dead period. I haven't looked into the recruiting time frames but it seems I heard something about that a few weeks ago. Coaches can't evaluate talent right now.

Also we were officiating HS girls at WSU this weekend. That doesn't do a lot for Marshall but there were a couple of girls that were fairly impressive.

And I know a few years ago Wichita did have an AAU team, the Wichita Wolfpack. I'm not sure if they're still around as it seems most go to KC or elsewhere. And some of the MAYB teams play some AAU as well. I heard some of the girls/parents talking about AAU this weekend.

                      Sub,
I worked the AAU Nationals a few years ago and there was a girls team from Wichita there. They went by the Wichita Spooks and were really good. I think they ended up in the final 8, if my memory serves me. 8)
Above all, make the right call.

That wouldn't surprise me. There was a Kansas team a few years ago (Kansas Belles) that went down to FL and won some big AAU tournament. I believe that team had Val Siemens and the Kinkaid girl from Andover Central. Not sure who else. I believe this years Belles team finished 2nd at the tournament I just did though. Not near as strong as the one a few years back.

Yes, 2009 recruiting is getting pretty busy and even adding some for 2010. However, 2008 is still interesting today (see Gabe Blair on the recruiting board).
