EO is bright, dad is an engineer, mom a teacher.

SCA will take care of him. They're a fabulous school (with a very good chess program) with some dyed-in-the-wool Shockers on staff. (I used to work with the head of the math department when we were both at Learjet.)

Has a few academic requirements he has to fulfill. Sunrise wants him at a certain level in math, english and social sciences before they put their stamp of approval on him.

EO is very, very excited. He has a hard time believing he is here. EO strong and loyal and faithful through this long, long process. EO so much wanted the opportuity to go to a US college and is so happy to be here. Marshall has not seen him play, but Randy Peale (Winthrop) and Marty Gross has and the feeling for his potential is very, very high.

He will not be able to attend summer school at WSU. WSU cannot transport anywhere -- have to recruit him like any other athlete.

Can play in pickup games this summer. Times when we can say hello to him but everyone has to follow NCAA rules. EO is eligible to do whatever any other recruit not enrolled at WSU can do.

Other recruits:

Returning players -- good news on academics.
Garrett graduated last night. He and others will be here June 9. All excited to do summer school and get in weight room. Hatch will not be here this summer (wedding and some surgery).

Working on recruiting plans in July.

Players and coaches will be around during camps, which start June 9.

Huge difference between now and one year ago. All the traveling back and forth, trying to sell houses -- and all the tragedy that happened. He and his family are much more acclimated to life in Wichita now.

I believe Marshall said he would be staying at Sunrise Academy. My radio seemed to have a lot of static and Marshall sounded like he was on a cell phone because the connection kept fading in and out. Maybe someone else heard differently.

If I read correctly a few posts back, I think he will be living at SCA. I believe they have housing. Otherwise, he would have to be at an apartment, because WSU can't house him until he is attending classes.

The only returning (?) player mentioned was Hatch. He said he would not be here for summer school because of a wedding and surgery he had. No other mention of current players (other than the grades thing).
