It really looks good on paper and to quote one of the asst coaches "If they get him here(Orupke) we will scatch them".I guess your crowd (10,512) in your building is intimidating. They know you guys will only do a home and home.
I take that to really mean "scratch", as in they won't play us.
Who will scratch us???
Until BigShot replies, I'm obviously just speculating. The first thing that came to my mind was Texas Tech renegging on the home-and-home. But it could also mean some other team we're trying to work on scheduling.
Yes, Coach Gregg Marshall IS the man, but we need to keep some perspective Big. I think most people know that next year's team will be much better than this year's, and that we're all ELATED that EO is going to be joining us, but it's an extremely YOUNG team and it will take time to get them to their potential. If we make the tournament next year I would be thrilled, but at this point the chances are 50/50 I think at best.
HCGM has set us up for the long haul, and is continuing to do so. As others have said, the 2009 Maui Tourney will be extremely interesting! This year I think we will still struggle with the 'GREEN blues' or lack of experience, but we will give a lot of teams fits. In a year or two, we should be doing more than that, and I think you'll see the WSU name back on the national stage in a big way (barring unforseen injuries and other things...)
It will be fun to watch them cause mis-matches with Valley teams, that's for sure.

Evansville? Indy St? Drake? I'm sure they'd all like to.
My guess would be Texas Tech too, but there is also LSU who apparently doesn't want to play WSU again.
I think it was a team that we've yet to officially sign on with. I'm not sure what kind of money it would cost TT or LSU to get out of their commitment to play us.
From what I know TT is a done ,TCU is 95% done, and UT and UH don't wanna come nowhere near ICT.SMU is still on the fence. The problem is not playing WSU this yr, everybody likes their chances against this young team. It's when they have to come to WSU next yr for the rubber match when all the pops have been weened and wanna eat some red meat. There was a time when teams would schedule a kid to come home and play.
well i hope we can make a deal with a young ambitious coach that feels they can take on anyone. i have none in mind, but i feel that they might be the only ones that will risk getting beat down by us at home.
i hope we can play some east coast teams, i know GM still recruits near SC. maybe playing near Noel Johnson would be in order... that'd be auspicious.
I would take TCU. We know Houston won't ever come back. At least not with their current coach. Texas doesn't surprise me either. I wouldn't be opposed to playing SMU either. Them and TCU are decent enough names that definitely have some potential and are in areas we love to recruit.
I'd love to play Tulsa but don't see it happening.
If Arkansas would play one and one I'd be game. That would provide for some fun with Charlie. Mizzou could be fun. Beating up on three MO teams in one year could be nice :D
Looks like South Carolina is looking for games. With your recruiting in SC, I'd think the staff would look into it:

Looking to start two home/home series, 1 on the road and 1 at home. Available Dates in November and December.
