He has put together a recruiting class that ranks with the best in the country bar none, and forget about how many stars a kid has by his name if you can play that's all that matters.Coaches all over the country are talking about 08 WSU recruiting class.You look at the team now and realize he addressed every need.Last season his worst nightmare happened, his only true PG go down and didn't have a legit backup,this year he went out and got two very good ones along with two young outstanding slasher/shooters and bigs (wow)two 7 footers that will have an immediate impact.Throw in what he already have coming back in Hawkins,Durley,Gris,A.Ellis,Hatch,and last but not least Ramon Clemente and what you have is a team that can play any style and make a lotta noise come tournament time.Greg Marshall you are the man.

I concur. Even if it's just anecdotal, it would be good to know how you arrived at that, if it isn't just speculative.

I have read a couple that said that Wichita State, counting Hawkins and Orukpe as they didn't play last year. has a Top 30 class. When the post signing period rankings come out in June I think you will find WSU on a lot of Top 25 lists.

BTW, the last one I read had WSU ahead of SIU, and that was before Chamberlain.

While I in no way disagree with the potential of the class, I hope any possible rankings received are attributed to quality and to a lessor degree quantity.

I think it they are weighted in the rankings...can one 3 star impact a team? Maybe. Can 4 3 star players impact a team? Yeah. Can one 4 star player impact a team? Most times yes.

It is very much based on opinion, but the quality ones are by people who see and do this everyday. No one knows how it will turn out on the court, but on paper WSU stands to gain a lot of attention over the summer and hopefully the players mesh well and play together weill.

And that's the thing. Some sites rank players through some system and add them up to get their totals. You can't take those sites seriously. If you rate them out of 10 and bring in five 4's, that isn't better than the school that brings in two 8's.

Still, with the quality of recruits along with the quantity, and if Hawk and Ehimen count, I wouldn't be surprised to be in the Top 30 on some.

Over the years I've gotten to know a lot of coaches and we keep in touch.They call me and sometimes I call them, we talk mostly about recruits in the Houston area. Greg Marshall has put something special together in a short period of time and coaches and athletic directors alike pay attention.It really looks good on paper and to quote one of the asst coaches "If they get him here(Orupke) we will scatch them".I guess your crowd (10,512) in your building is intimidating.They know you guys will only do a home and home.
