Multiple sources have confirmed that Massachusetts coach Travis Ford is expected to be named the new head coach at Oklahoma State.

He turned down Providence and said he was staying, but now --????

Oh, I am sure he is getting more than Davis will get at Providence with Pickens in the mix. With enough money, you can buy most anything. And I imagine Ford thought he would need BIG money to move to the boonies fo Oklahoma.

I'm not an insider, but according to this link, Chris Lowery was close to being the next Oklahoma State coach.

All it said is that he met with them, but immediately announced he'd stay at SIU and "continue to build on blah blah blah" and all the other coach speak that normally gets said about a year or two before they leave for greener pastures.
The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

Damn, I would have loved to have gotten that guy out of the league. Losing Davis and keeping Lowery isn't exactly a good thing for the watch-ability of the Valley.

I guess Ford is a better candidate than Davis for the OSU job, but by how much? Davis assembled and coached freaking Drake into a top 20 team. That's incredible.

But how do you know it was Keno and not Dr. Tom that "assembled" the Drake team. His recruiting ability is what has not been proven (or at least he hasn't been credited with it). Time will tell how he can recruit at Providence. I wish him luck.

I would have thought OSU could get a little bit better coach than what is being mentioned. The money that they are willing to throw around should have made that a desirable job to someone.

Agreed. Ford is not exactly Bill Self.
