  • Details announced for WSU-Oklahoma basketball game at Intrust

WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State's Saturday, Dec. 16 men's basketball game against Oklahoma at INTRUST Bank Arena will tip at 6:00 p.m. CT.

From Oct. 2-6, WSU season ticket holders will have the opportunity to purchase seats through a special pre-sale. Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning Saturday, Oct. 7.

WSU students will have access to their normal allotment of student tickets. Pickup dates for all 2017-18 home games will be announced later this month after the men's basketball schedule is finalized.

In the coming weeks, season ticket account holders should receive a letter in the mail with their assigned dates (based on their Shocker Priority Points standing) and a pre-sale code.

Beginning at 10:00 a.m. on their assigned day, season ticket holders may use this code to purchase seats by phone at 855-755-SEAT, online at selectaseat.com or by visiting the Select-A-Seat Box Office at INTRUST Bank Arena.

In order to protect the integrity of the Shocker Athletics Priority Points System, ticket holders are asked to not share these codes with others.

The pre-sale concludes at 10:00 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6. Remaining tickets will go on sale to general public at 10:00 a.m. CT on Saturday, Oct. 7.

Located in the heart of downtown, Wichita's 15,004-seat INTRUST Bank Arena will host first and second rounds during the 2018 and 2021 NCAA Men's Basketball Championships. The Shockers have played a game there annually since the building's 2010 debut and have sold out each of the last three contests against Oklahoma State (2016), Utah (2015) and Saint Louis (2014).

Tickets for the Wichita State-Oklahoma game are priced as follows:
    $192.00 for sideline courtside seating
    $127.00 for end-zone courtside seating
    $87.00 for lower bowl Sections 102, 104, 115, 116 & 117
    $62.00 for lower bowl Sections 101, 105, 114, 118
    $37.00 for lower bowl Sections 106-108, 111-113, 119-121, & 124-126
    $27.00 for all seats in Sections 109, 110, 213-218

It didn't seem as if they did a whole lot to help WSU fans with tickets in OK City. Screw em

OK maybe that was a little harsh. To heck with them.

Seriously though, screw em. Let's only offer them tickets for seats that have their backs against the walls in the upper deck.

Yeah, I like this series and hope that it can continue since it is an easy trip...but after the way tickets were handled at Chesapeake last year, I prefer that we move this back to Koch and Lloyd-Noble if it is extended.

I ended up with decent lower level seats for that OKC game, but yeah, I had to buy them the day of the game in person at the box office.

Playing a little devils advocate, I guess it's nice knowing they were more concerned with trying to keep as much of a home court advantage as possible instead of only thinking about making as much money as possible like the rest of society.

So, the Shocks should also be concerned with keeping the home court advantage and screw OU. We'll still sell the building out, however.

They included them in the season ticket package and didn't open them up until the end. This is definitely a money maker for our university. They probably don't need basketball money. If you want tickets, especially good tickets, buy early. OSU ended up with lots of seats last year and local OU fans will too.

Pay heed to the bold section.

Buy them the DAY they go on sale to the general public (October 7th), and do it early, or else you'll be stuck up in the 2nd level. It's not a bad view, but it's not amazing either.

30% price increase is pretty steep and with them selling out every year, it makes sense. I've had a group of close to 20 the last several years for the IBA games...given the improved home schedule and increase in ticket prices we're considering just bellying up at a bar and watching the game on TV...let more non season ticket holders get good seats.
