  • How do you get/digest WSU athletics news?

Sully leaving the Eagle had me re-analyzing how I take in WSU news, which for me used to be Shockernet scan first, Shockwaves app second, ESPN 3rd. This made me realize maybe there is a better/more indepth/quicker way some of you might have. What's your "go to" sources for WSU news and how do you digest it? Once a day, continuously? I'm looking for a better way if there is one.

I strongly suspect that with the hiring of Sullentrop that goshockers.com will replace kansas.com as my primary source of Shocker sports media consumption.
ShockerNet is a rat infested cess pool.

      What? No mention of Kunkel?

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

This would make a good poll

        ShockerNet
        Eagle
        GoShockers
        Facebook
        Will Kunkel
I'd Rather Not Have Any than Get It From Kunkel
        Other

There are so many eyes on so many sources that post here that I think ShockerNet gets me to more info than I could ever get on my own regardless of the number of sources I checked. If something's shaking, someone here will post it.

I look at the Eagle online every morning and read an article or two. I always look for any WSU articles. After that I get my Shocker info from Shockernet. Any article on WSU is usually linked here fairly timely.

Set up a google email alert for a specific topic such as Wichita State Basketball. You will get pretty much anything that is published. Go to https://www.google.com/alerts

Shockwaves, the Eagle, goshockers, and the various links posted by the kind souls of Shockernet.

The only slight caveat I would throw in for this is that Paul will be telling what WSU wants to be told. He won't going in depth on things like Gregg's Canada episode, unpleasant coaching changes, etc. I agree with you that my GoShockers usage will increase immensely, but I will still look for outside local news.

When Gregg calls for advice he usually fills me in on what's going on.

I would say pretty easy to set up. Pretty self explanatory.

Yes. I get separate emails every morning (the option I chose) for basketball and baseball. Sometimes it's nothing more than a Wichita State mention (such as a list of schools a recruit is considering) or someone used a photo from a game as part of their article.

But my go to is ShockerNet early and often because of the sharing of info and insight many of you have.

I use TweetDeck on my PC as my twitter interface. In it, I have a column dedicated to a search for "Wichita State" or "Wichita St". So I see every tweet that mentions either one. That means I get a lot of meaningless crap, complaining students and ignoramuses (ie. "Wichita St #3 ahead of Duke? So stoopid!"). But it's also very timely, as most media sources tweet out links to their articles when they are published.

I shamelessly steal whatever pops up here. Sometime I go to Shockwave. But not anymore, unless they replace PS with some one really really good.

Unfortunately, the 'Other Board' is weak in breaking news. There are some very clever posters, but not much new
