Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".
A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

Odd question, but I'm not a med guy...
On my fantasy football team, I have Greg Olsen at TE. Dude just broke his foot... and is out for only 6 weeks.
Danny Woodhead pulled his hamstring, and is out 10 - 12 weeks.
Landry has surgery on a stress fracture, and is out 12 - 16 weeks.
To me- the uneducated- a broken foot sounds the worst out of all three of these. Does it just depend on the athlete? How is a pulled muscle worse than a broken foot? And how is a stress fracture worse than both?
Looking for enlightenment, gentlemen.

A muscle can take longer to recover and be safe from further injury than a bone.Bones lay down deposits. Muscles grow tissue. Laying down deposits is faster than growing tissue.
Stress fractures run along the length of a bone. There is typically more bone that has to be replaced than with a "break". Stress fractures are generally caused by impact. They are generally repaired by surgery and implanting screwss or rods to help hold the bone together.
With a "break" there is little chance of encountering the force that originally caused the break, so returning to "normal" activity doesn't present a big danger of reinjury. A stress fracture in the foot is typically caused by impact with the floor after jumping. There is a 100% chance of a basketball player encountering the same force that originally caused the injury, so some caution on returning to that activity is standard practice. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.
