Some people seem to be having a hard time voting for 5 players.

The Poll actually reads "Starters vs. Cal in Maui", maybe voter(s) are suggesting we tip off with less than 5 to give the Bears a fighting chance.

I'm wondering if we'll ever see Nurger or Midtgaard start the game to get a tip and then immediately come out (basically anyone could come off the bench. You could even start LS, ZB, MM, SM, and Nurger and then just shift everyone down for CF to come in).

I didn't vote that way, but HCGM has been known to use interesting starting lineups.

All I know is that it's going to be an adjustment not seeing JRS in the final seconds of games.

I think Stevenson and Malone are long shots. R-E-A-L-L-Y L-O-N-G shots.

No reason to think our main guys last year won't be our main guys this year.

Seems unnecessary given that Shaq pretty much wins all tip offs cause he cheats LOL.

Malone had a change of heart and is back on the team for next season. Stevenson won't be here.

Our vast options of lineups are staggering.

I think the only constant is Shamet at the 1. The rest....

My difficulty in trying to decide on who to start between Kelly, Brown, and McDuffie for the 3 and 4 is one of many reasons I don't make $3.5 million as a college basketball coach.

                          More on the Starters

I saw an article from CBS Sports the other day that was about 25 players with the most to prove in the coming season. I forgot where I saw it, so I went back & looked for it today. It's on "The Shocker Faithful" on Facebook. Go there, & scroll down to this article.

What you will see is that Zach Brown is one of those 25 players. Most of the other 24 are there because of their potential offense. Maybe there was a hot senior playing in front of them last year, etc. In Brown's case, it is about his defense & getting more recognition for it.

Marshall & his staff are quoted to the effect that they believe Zach Brown is one of the 3 top elite type of defender in the country. They also say that their 3 top players are McDuffie, Shamet & Brown. So, this must say something about who is going to be gettingthe most PT this coming season.

Who starts is not important - it's who finishes in big close games. I do know
that a second five of Midtgaard, RN, ZB, AR and CJ would be pretty damn good
as would any combo of players playing the positions they are suited for. As always,
our strength will be defense and depth

2nd would probably be Kelly, Willis, Nurger, Reaves and Keyser
