In my days as a season ticket holder I was a half-pint a game man. Enough to get the juices flowing, but not so much to get fitshaced and draw too much attention to myself. If beer would have been available I would probably have gone that route to the detriment of my wallet and waistline. Nevertheless, I don't think I support the sale of beer in Koch. Keep the drinkers on the down-low and let everyone else enjoy the veneer of a family atmosphere.

I remember those days. Late 80's me and a couple of buddies had student season tickets together. There was a big game coming, Purdue I think, so we pooled our meager funds together and found someone to buy us a half pint of Bacardi 151. Snuck it into the game in someone's sock, only to realize nobody had any cash left for a coke to pour it in. We were a bunch of geniuses for sure.

For the thousands of games that do serve alcohol, you very rarely hear of major issues with it. This is a no brainer revenue stream to me.

We might be the first basketball program to allow this. Some football programs already do.
Why walk somebody in baseball when you can hit them?

The article shows that most of the AAC already offers alcohol at most sports events.

Without realizing we were going to WSU's last-ever home football game, myself and 3 friends went to the game with a quart and a half of Jack Daniels. Security didn't check my thermos at the gate. One of the friends accompanying me lived just a block south of campus, so the stagger home part of the evening wasn't too bad.

Too bad this proposal is for 3.2 beer. That stuff is like making love in a canoe.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

Because it's f***ing close to water.

Alcohol is not needed to attend a basketball game.
"If you're going to do it, you're going to do it right," athletic director Jim Schaus said. "If we're going to put 'Wichita State' across our chest, then every team is going to matter."

Well I imagine the 3.2 thing will only be until Kansas law changes in 2019. Also if you drink light beer the difference in alcohol content is negligible roughly 4.0 compared to a standard 4.2 ABV.

Could have used this last year during those 30pt. beat downs. I'm all for it. Can we put the beer in sippy cups so when my neighbor spills his on the floor it doesn't get all over my coat or make the floor sticky.

You ever been to an NFL game? Any NFL game?

Regardless, I don't think it'd be as big of an issue as in the NFL. At those games, people have 3-5 hours of tailgating and getting trashed before the game even starts. I'd support the idea of selling beer, especially since it will help generate a lot more money.
