  • Add me to the group who finds it easier to park and quicker to leave IBA than Koch.

I'm 6'5. Sitting normal in that room is non-starter

      • My bad for turning this into a parking/walking thread, however, it has been very informative. :victorious:

And Koch is that much better?

Unless you're in a suite or luxury box, most arenas don't have the space and freedom of a living room sofa.

            ... No really, deuces.

            • The legroom at IBA is like a movie theatre compared to CKA. I'm 6'1" (read: not really THAT tall) and there are places in CKA that I can't physically sit down.

              • Why, oh why, did they have to name the arena IBA? I can't help thinking of it as one word, and wondering why the shockers are playing at Oklahoma State.

Because of the money Intrust Bank (the IB of IBA) spent to get it named after them. We are playing at Oklahoma State because it is part of the deal we made with them, a home and home where our home game was at Intrust Bank Arena (aka IBA) last year.

                  • A little pet peeve, but I wish they would've went with Intrust Bank Center instead. I'm not sure how many places call themselves "arena" but it's far less.

Think Jes'me was just saying when you abbreviate Intrust Bank Arena (IBA) it reminds of Oklahoma States arena.

Swooosh! OSU's arena is commonly known as "Iba." Yes, I'm old, and see IBA, without periods, as a word rather than an itialism.

After the renovation they started the reseating process. We used to be on the floor and those seat were removed. So we went around the arena to pick our seats. I was amazed (and I'm sure mostly just because I'm that dumb about engineering etc) at how I could pick a seat in one section and be fairly comfortable, and then what appeared to be an identical seat in a different section I couldn't even begin to sit (6'3"). It took a long while, but I think I found the best seat in the house, at least for me.

But yeah, generally speaking, leg room at IBA is light years ahead of CKA.

And I challenge anyone on noise. On the floor, where it matters, you can't here yourself scream when it's loud. Now, I can't say I've had a lot of experience at IBA on the floor, when it's rocking, but there's no way it's comparable. I thought at times the last couple of years IBA was louder than I expected, and a great atmosphere (and I think it will remain that way in the foreseeable future) but unless you've been on the floor at the Chuck and felt the pain, and it is painful, then you don't know what loud is. I look forward to the absence of 30-50 point yawners and the return to bleeding Eustachian tubes.
