When I'm in town for a game, I usually park at the RSC. That is roughly equivalent to a 5-6 block walk downtown, and it's usually a pleasant stroll. Granted, it's not uphill both ways in a blizzard while being attacked by wild dogs.
Also some perspective: I used to work in downtown Denver. I would routinely walk 10 blocks just for lunch. Walking is something Wichitans love to hate, and I've never understood why.
I do this everywhere, at work, grocery store, restaurants, etc. Got to get those steps in on my Apple Watch. :)ShockerNet is a rat infested cess pool.

We don't have much for mass transit here so driving is the only way to get to IBA for most people and not having adequate parking for events makes a mess of things. Its a good landing if you can walk away, its a great landing if the plane can be reused the next day.

Go to ANY arena in the country (many bigger than IBA) and see how the parking works. It's the EXACT same situation. You can't put 8,000 parking spots within 200 feet of an arena entrance. It's not possible. Basic physic laws don't allow for it. It's not hard to understand.
And lol if you think parking garages are a part of the solution, then you're clueless. Parking garages are the worst answers when wanting to get in and out of places quickly.Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

If there is anyone that has been to a few events at IBA and can honestly say that its not a vast improvement for our city to have an arena downtown I'm guessing they're either not being entirely honest or just aren't trying to enjoy it for some strange reason. But some will never be convinced.
If you don't believe me, ask HCGM... he's a big fan!
