Strictly an atmosphere thing. It can get pretty loud in IBA, but it doesn't sustain as long as it can at Koch Arena. I think some of the crowd in the upper levels just aren't used to watching games in that size of arena and feel a little disconnected.

Whereas in Koch Arena everyone feels on top of the court and into the game. So the excitement level stays elevated. Unless you are blowing an opponent out....But I don't see that happening as much in the AAC. So the atmosphere in Koch should be back to what it SHOULD be.

        Koch goes to 11.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Because complaining is a competitive sport for some of us.

For a couple games, I don't mind it as it's something different and it gets more fans that aren't able to go to Koch to see a game. But in general, it just isn't the same.
I don't know that Koch is louder on the floor. Players have mentioned IBA as being louder.

It will be interesting to see if the series with Baylor is at IBA or Koch.
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take....

.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

Yes, please, it is so intimidating. Though not the first one. Save that for Cincy.

People in Wichita do not like to pay any amount for parking, or walk very far from their car to the arena. Personally, I like IBA, but I have been able to obtain good seats. But the Roundhouse is the best!

I have to admit I didn't enjoy the walk to the arena for the Okie State game and I was only about 2 blocks away. Man that was a cold day.

                              • A two block walk downtown is roughly the equivalent to the distance from CKA to the outer reaches of the closest parking lots. Just some perspective.

When I'm in town for a game, I usually park at the RSC. That is roughly equivalent to a 5-6 block walk downtown, and it's usually a pleasant stroll. Granted, it's not uphill both ways in a blizzard while being attacked by wild dogs.

Also some perspective: I used to work in downtown Denver. I would routinely walk 10 blocks just for lunch. Walking is something Wichitans love to hate, and I've never understood why.
