  • New series with Baylor

Per John Rothstein interview today with HCGM

“We’re waiting on the ink to dry on a series with Baylor,” Shockers coach Gregg Marshall said Monday on the
College Hoops Today Podcast. “It would start down there in Waco and we’ve also got Oklahoma and Oklahoma State on the schedule for next season. We’re not going to stop trying to schedule the best teams we can just because we’re in a different league now.”

That would be awesome. I would imagine they would then return to Intrust Bank the following year? Intrust Bank Arena continues to pay off

I also think it is a little poetic it is another Big 12 team. Screw Kansas, we don't need them. We will just schedule your conference mates lol

I'm starting to wonder if the tables have turned and HCGM is actually on his own purposeful plan to play the entire Big 12 conference OTHER than KU and KSU.

I might have to listen to that one online. Not sure I can stand watching five highliters for almost 2 hours.

              Drool.

But seriously-- Waco is a haaaard place to play, even against one of the worst X's and O's coaches in the country.

Since we're playing in Waco, I'd think the return game would be at Koch.

Wouldn't really be fair to us to play a game on Baylor's home court, then have them come up here and play at a site where their fans can actually get tickets. But if it is at Intrust, I guess you gotta do what you gotta do to get good teams to play you.

Depending on some of the Baylor draft decisions, that could be a top 10-15 match up.

It is Baylor. I don't think we have to be worried about them scaring up a bunch of tickets at Intrust. With their game against New Mexico St. in the NCAA tourney, it didn't even look like their fans used their entire allotment for an NCAA tourney game in Tulsa.

I agree. I would just be surprised they would return at Koch. But who knows. I will be glad to eat crow if they do come to Koch. Maybe it will be Waco/Koch/Neutral in Texas/Intrust. I could go for that kind of a series lol.

Another good game to have, even if they don't come to Koch.

Hopefully that's it for true road games next year. Would be nice to have a marquee game at a neutral site as well, otherwise I'd like to see the rest at CKA.

Would you rather have 5 Baylor fans at Koch? Or 500 at Intrust?

Just because a teams fans didn't travel to a game they had 4 days to plan around doesn't mean they won't travel, at least a little, to a game they have 5 months to plan for.

iirc they had a pretty fair amount of fans in KC for the Big 12 Tournament.

Were you at Intrust for the Ok State game?
