      • Surprised we jumped Arizona. Also Surprised Cinci didn’t drop farther and are still ahead of us.

I, too, was surprised we past AZ. Not that surprised about Cincy. In both cases, this shows a lot of respect for the AAC.

      • Picture this:

WSU and Cincinnati win out until our match up on March 4th. There will almost certainly be a top 10 match up in Koch Arena.

The Shockers played a high level game Sunday in a road win at Cincinnati after dispatching Temple at home. The Shockers are proving to be more than capable to play up during the regular season, just like they have in the postseason under Gregg Marshall. That road win Sunday will go down as one of the best under Marshall prior to March.

So they stayed put at 18?

No. They were #33 last week.

ShockTalk, they were 33 in the poll. This post was about Andy Katz's power rankings. You can see in the quoted portion that 18 is in parenthesis. Here's last week's post from him: https://www.ncaa.com/news/basketball...caa-tournament

I just think it's silly to say "this was an incredible week for Houston!" and then keep them at the exact same spot in the power rankings. I have a hard time believing it could be the "most significant week" in the history of Sampson's tenure at Houston and it shouldn't even move them a single spot.

          • Three AAC teams in top 25 equals big 12. Glad to see Houston in top 25. AACs top half is as tough as any league from what I’ve seen

            • I’m a little surprised to see Tech move up after losing to a Baylor team that remains unranked.

Just as BIG EAST looks down at AAC in RPI, seeding, number of tournament teams, etc.

Comparing conferences is silly. The Big East is still better than the AAC.

Now individual teams are way more fun. Like wondering who Creighton will lose to in the first weekend this year. Always a game to look forward to.

                      • I totally missed that Ohio St lost twice, I knew it, just didn't write it down right. So I should have had the Shocks at 14 or 15 (being my conservative, not expecting any favors from sports writers self). 14 or 15 depended on how far Clemson dropped. That made us 14. As I said earlier, I didn't see us passing AZ. Unfortunately, I was right about Duke, KU, and UNC all moving to the Top 10 (didn't we use to have a "vomit" smiley).
