Sometimes, it is all about good timing for a good fit for players and programs.

Next Seasons recruiting for 2018 will be attractive to recruits. By then, we should be in a better Conference and will have playing time which players are looking for. I'm wondering if we might find an experienced Transfer as we have done in the past more than once that would walk on as we groom him to our System and then sign for 2018? Dunno, but it could always be an option based on past tendencies.

We sometimes have a short memory. For the best of Daishon Smith, think back to the early part of the year, especially against OU. He was shooting great, and he couldn't miss his free throws. Later, after Landry and Conner took over, Gregg referred back to him losing confidence. He did not look good against UK but he did show better in other recent games but never to the level he showed early in the year against OU, etc. It is not a unique experience for juco players to hit a "wall" sometime during the year. Carl Hall was very good the first half of the year. He ended up with a 6 points and 4 rebounds average for the year and didn't make a difference in the MVC Tournament when we were favored against ISUR and lost. The following year, Carl was great and was our inside leader in the F4. Daishon will be better next year, and while Jones will sometimes be a force, he will have his struggles too, but still be fine off the bench.

Odessa couldn't miss the first 8 minutes of the game and lead by as many as 17. Hutch contributed to that by panicking and playing too selfishly be some players. Sam was not a factor. He didn't score until about 7 or 8 minutes to go in the half. He scored on timely, quick drives to the basket. Made free throws. Made good on I think 3 three pointers. He had 3 or 4 rebounds. I found it interesting that Sam played off guard to start the game, but during the comeback, he was the lead guard. He is so quick and can change direction in a blink of the eye. I am excited about this kid.

SHJ with a 3 to get Hutch to within 4. SHJ just made another basket. Lead down to 2 for Odessa. Sam with 20.
