My gut is telling me someone in this team's top 10 players will transfer. Not sure who, and it will be someone totally unexpected but.....

The only player who I see as a remote possibility of transferring is Eric. He'll be a junior next year and his minutes will again be limited unless he makes huge strides this summer. But we need his size and athletic ability. The kid, when he's on the floor, has a knack for always being around the ball. He may never get Shaq minutes but even getting 7 to 10 minutes of quality playing time is better than 2 to 5 minutes of "scrub time."

I feel pretty good about our top 10 returning. We were on the cusp of a very deep run and they know potential for next season is even greater. I think if anybody transfers out, it might be Hamilton.

We'll have a great season and as usual the committee will play reindeer games with the seeding but it won't matter. It's at the point now we're good enough that it will just end up screwing other teams.

Anything can happen, but a national title possibility is realistic with this team.

2. MSU improves to 10-8, 20-12 overall and misses all post season Tourneys.
3. Paul Lusk is your MVC coach of the year. Gregg Marshall the National Coach of the year finishes 3rd in the MVC voting

He needs to make a light years jump to get there. He's athletic but has zero idea how to harness it. I don't see him here sadly. I see him as the opening for the Great Dane.

On a similar end of bench topic. CJ and SHJ will be critical to get quality minutes next year to help bridge the gap in the year after when CF and DS leave (and possibly LS).

Question: If the goal next season is winning the holeeffinthing then:

1) Do we need additional pieces?
2) If so what and where do we find it?
3) If so who goes?
4) How do we legitimately improve the noncon schedule? I'm not sure the current games even with Maui is good enough to improve our seed...Dare I say 2-1 with top notch team?

1. Start in the top 10 if not top 5
2. Similar record to this year or better. Non-con we will not lose the games we lost this year.
3. We win again the conference championship and in St. Louis
4. With RPI gone, predictive metrics in place...we will be a high seed, wouldn't be surprised to see a 1
5. UK and KU will be in our bracket and we will beat both
6. We will be heading to the AAC (if we make the move earlier 3. still plays but at a new tourney site)
7. Marshall will be rumored at all the new school openings who think 1-4 million will move him to their Garden of Eden. He stays.

1. We will still have a strong aversion to “a certain” CBS Sports Writer.
2. There will be another controversy like the “Canadian Hubbub” or the “Indiana Hullabaloo”.
3. Shockernet’ers will find something to complain about, for ex.: When will the Schedule be released?, Why isn’t Shocker Madness on the weekend?, I haven’t gotten my season tickets yet!, These refs suck! When will our Radio broadcasts be brought into the 21st Century? Etc.
4. Illinois State Head Coach, Dan Muller, will get another “teaching moment”.
5. Next year’s “Senior Night Ceremony” will take longer than the actual game.

BONUS PREDICTION: ESPN College Game Day will return to the “Roundhouse”.

Hopefully Marshall can find a senior transfer that has that X factor like Early did. We just haven't had that guy that could go off and take over a game in the tourney. Without that guy, we will have a hard time advancing into multiple weekends. McDuffy could be the guy but who knows.

With a little more strength and experience Shamet will be that. Had he not had foul trouble yesterday we would have won IMHO

Fred and Ron are NBA players and they couldn't get it done without that guy, what makes this group different? I'm not belittling the team, we are a top 10 team next year but to do something special another guy will have to emerge.

Man I find it hard to fathom people not considering Landry that X factor right now. He's got an unlimited ceiling IMO, and he showed yesterday that he's got the balls to go up against the top teams and nearly will the team to a victory.
