My take would be that we had a lot of success in the NCAA Tournament against some very high rated teams when we had the extra week but I won't attribute that success to the extra week. It's more likely we were just better than the teams we played.

The bottom line is that, yes, we were better than the teams we beat on the days we played them. Would our record have been better or worse had we not had the extra week off. No way of knowing.

I like the idea of Baylor coming to Koch. As much as I enjoy having the capacity of a larger crowd at IBA, this game has the potential to be extra rowdy since it will be in at CKA. I'm also going to assume they chose Koch because perhaps they plan on having a conference game or two in IBA in 2018.

SDSU should be a good value again for a buy-game, as Daum returns to highlight a team coming off an RPI of 152 in 2017. The Jackrabbits finished with a flourish by grabbing the Summit's auto bid.

UMKC has some rebuilding to do, as they lose quite a bit of their firepower from a 2017 team that finished with an RPI of 181. Hopefully Coach Richardson has a bevy of talented newcomers on the way.

Veritas is right Joco. A KC game should be against a Creighton, Iowa State, Iowa, K State, or maybe a Mizzou in a year or two. I have no problem playing them if they get good enough (like WSU in the Valley) have an RPI that is 50 to maybe 100 at the highest.

Your comparison with WSU is when we had an RPI of above 25-50 and KU wouldn't play us. That is true elitism.

What kind of crowd could WSU get at the Sprint Center for UMKC/WSU? I agree that UMKC should not be a home and home, but what if WSU had a game at the Sprint Center...

WSU vs UMKC in KC is hardly going to be a blip on anyone's radar up there who isn't already a WSU fan. Meeting an upper half Big 12 team up there might draw a little attention, but the Roos are basically an exhibition game for the Shox at this point. They haven't finished in the top 200 of KenPom in more than a decade. Shox are undefeated against such teams the past 6 years.
