I'm not one for just throwing money at something, but this is something NOT to go on the cheap with. If you're going to do it, which they should, do it right. I've always like what WSU did out front of Eck with the Bledsoe Plaza. Make this something special.

Yes outside! First hurdle was making absolutely sure it is at Koch Arena (not Intrust). Boom...did it! Next hurdle....outside as people are walking up and ESPN pans to and fro for commercials.

Certainly possible. But a $250,000 bronze does not sound less expensive even for a life-size statue but I will admit I have no knowledge of the subject.

Not that it would make a difference, but I'm also for putting it outside.

I have a brick to buy for Doc, and I have a statue of Dave to help fund. Gonna be writin' some checks today.

I think it is a good sign that they have raised $20,000 already and really have not even started asking anyone for money.

No way this doesn't get done. I think 3G will make sure this gets done one way or the other.

The fund raising letter they will be sending out with signatures from Shocker All-Americans Cleo Littleton, Antoine Carr, Cliff Levingston, Xavier McDaniel, Cleanthony Early, Fred VanVleet and Ron Baker will be somehwat of keepsake even with reproduced signatures. That's worth a contribution right there.

Dave's stature as a player is highlighted by the last sentence in that article. Dave was elected to the Missouri Valley’s inaugural Hall of Fame class in 1997 — alongside Larry Bird, Oscar Robertson, Wes Unseld, Ed Macauley, Hersey Hawkins and coach Henry Iba. That's some pretty good company. That wouldn't be a half bad team to put on the floor.

Unveiling Planned For Replica of the Dave Stallworth Statue on Thursday at 4:00 pm in the Koch Arena Champions Club. Open to the public.

President John Bardo will reveal plans for its future location OUTSIDE of Charles Koch Arena during a special ceremony.

Any excess funds raised above the cost of the statue and its placement will be used to endow a Dave Stallworth Memorial Scholarship for WSU students majoring in elementary or secondary education, with a preference designated for African-American recipients.

I won't be able to attend the unveiling. I wonder if this might be on display at the Volleyball matches this weekend.

                    • Here is an update on the Dave Stallworth Statue fundraising. They are getting close. Actually I have to admit to being a little surprised they haven't completed the fundraising at this point.

Fundraising for the Dave Stallworth statue is roughly $40,000 from its goal and the base that will hold the monument stands ready outside Charles Koch Arena.

                      • The statue has been approved and should be here this coming fall.

                          • Glad they hired a professional sculptor who knew what she was doing. Looks nice but I have one criticism, Dave's smile. I don't think he was smiling that much during most games. He might have been a nice, laid back guy but on the court he was a warrior.
