  • 8 Warning Signs: Your Team Is Going Home

This is a funny article, but it's so true:

The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

Absolutely phenomenal article. This is the best of sports, and this is why college basketball in March is the best of the best.

Incomplete list. Needs "Your team's jerseys say 'Baylor' on them."

        6. The stupid bank-shot and/or contested threes. The culmination of their stupid shooting and your uncharacteristically awful shooting.

I will never forget the Kentucky game.
UK had the ball, late in the second half.
WSU were playing belt buckle to belt buckle defense.
        The clock was winding down.
UK could not penetrate or get an open shot.
        The clock was winding down.
        Now less than 10 seconds.
        Now less than 5 seconds.
UK player launches a prayer 3 ball from the left side and just inside the sideline and well behind the 3 line.
I'm thinking. Go get the rebound.
        Forget that thought.
Off the board and through the cords.
        Number 6, indeed.

To be fair I think Baker banked one in as well.
Its a good landing if you can walk away, its a great landing if the plane can be reused the next day.

He was fouled on the elbow. Complained to the official right after.
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take....

.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

that article gave me no solace whatsoever. dayton is a heavy veteran team, playing in nap town. they could beat just about any "choose your top-ten team" there.

Shox aren't a team full of freshmen playing in their first NCAA game. They will be ok if they play well. They don't have to play perfect, just well enough to win. Dayton would have been challenging for the Valley title with us and Illinois St, but they aren't Duke
"He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. "He said he was going to be a Shocker forever." -- RIP Guy, you WILL indeed be a Shocker forever!

Its one of those perfect moments where somebody with a sense of humor also has done the research and has the history and info to back everything up. A much better person than me... I'm lucky if I can make one funny comment a week. Let's not even talk about my grasp of NCAA history and stats and individual player performances.

still..'difficult to see a real veteran team (like dayton) lose three games in a row.

the shockers got screwed again. there's no two ways about it.

You mean we are going to lose? (A blood curdling scream fills the room). I hadn't considered that possibility. :(
