CBS televises the MVC Toureny games. During the broadcast they put Jerry Palm on for almost as long as they televise the championship game. Palm repeats over and over how no MVC team deserves an at large and how the auto bid should be a 10 seed.
I realize the MVC can't really call any shots if they can get anyone to pay for anything. I believe it's only the MVC offices that get paid for the Arch Madness telecasts. But how in hell does the broadcasting affiliate get to badmouth the teams throughout the entire tournament?
I'm running into people quoting Palm on other message boards to justify WSU getting a 10 seed.
Sports writers, coaches, and SID's think WSU is a top 20 team. Anybody not from the MVC who watched Arch Madness thinks the Shox were seeded about right. One voice outweighed a couple thousand voices when the Shox were seeded.
That voice was the broadcasting affiliate of the MVC tourney.
