In 2014, CBS wanted the undefeated WSU-predicted to be undefeated Kentucky game, and KU will always do well with ratings as well, so St. Louis got the first two CBS games.
In 2015, CBS wanted the long-awaited game WSU-KU game, but Wisconsin-Oregon didn't have the same kind of national pull, so WSU-KU got the last CBS spot with the Badgers and Ducks going on cable.
WSU is the vastly underseeded team, and Michigan is the team with the dramatic airplane accident story. Louisville and Kentucky are blue bloods, so that all makes for must-see CBS TV. If Oklahoma State, Dayton, or either of the 15 seeds advance, the cable stations will get involved.
