Many requests from SNers, so here it is...
Winning cures all ills, it even makes the long drive home seem shorter.
Best Team - WSU, Duh! Curb stomping games are fun to win, but don't leave much to the imagination. After a while, the Bradley game bordered on child abuse.
Best team who didn't - MSU. That's a decent team with a BIG time player in Alize Johnson. He has a nuclear powered motor and never stops moving. They scared me more than ISU.
Best player - Johnson. If he had more help, MSU could hang with WSU. However, their best player next was... not much. 'Nuff said.
Best Coach- HCGM. Yea, he has the players, but he also knows how to handle them. Do not discount the CJ factor. He does a lot of stuff you never see, just the results.
Worst team - InSU only played Thursday night because The Valley made them show up. Drake was horrible, but at least they tried.
Worst Game - Bradley/Drake was one of the worst games I have ever witnessed. It made my teeth hurt to watch it. Even DUBulldog stayed home this year. He obviously knew better and saved his coins.
Worst Coach - I have no idea what Lansing what doing Thursday night, other than showing up. He looked like he was upset they didn't play the game with a running clock.
Ok, the good stuff...
Best Cheerleaders - WSU & MSU. Both were crisp, good routines and easy on the eyes. The tall brunette for WSU probably needs campus security to keep the guys from bugging her for a date.
Worst Cheerleaders - Drake. No emotion or energy. Its like they know how bad their team was and just went through the motions.
Best Dance Team - The Sugar Bears. There were only 6 of them, but they were good and very, very easy on the eyes. ISU's Red Line Express was ok, but once again not up to their usual standard.
Worst Dance Team - This was easy - UE. Holy Jeezus, I've seen smaller beer bellies on old fat dudes down at the corner bar. It was embarrassing. RefChick said she couldn't even look at them.
Worst Dance Team - Honorable mention - UNI. Apparently there is a shortage of practicing dentists in Iowa cause some of those girls looked like they spent their youth chewing on barbed wire
Casual observations...
Agree with some posters about ISU fans. Most around us were assholes and made constant douchebag comments about WSU, HCGM and the city of Wichita in general.
They did show up in big numbers on Sunday. But I've never seen so much red disappear so fast since I cut my finger cleaning vegetables for a salad and held it under running water.
Met some good fans from Loyola and MSU. Were complimentary and respectful.
UE fans may be the dumbest bunch I've been around. They know absolutely nothing about the game or how to construct a proper sentence.
The officiating...
Hawkins and McIntosh got exactly what they deserved on Sunday. Both were a couple of turds and were warned by both Stuart and Higgins. They were pissed off at them and had heard enough.
Stuart and HCGM do not see eye to eye. Not sure why, but it is obvious. The funny thing is HCGM and Pollard now get along fine. Funny how things change.
Great seeing Doc again. Its always a pleasure but wish it we had more time to chat.
Pappy's is some seriously fricking awesome... ok enough. Its just good chow. Damn good chow.
Zia's was the usual excellent Italian and Hodaks fried bird dinner is always a must.
Lastly, take the time to go upstairs in Scotttrade and check out the St. Louis Browns memorabilia case. Really neat stuff and worth your time.
That is all.
