I'm neither an expert nor a prophet, therefore I used the top 3 bracketologists' predictions and voted for the 8th seed.

Based on Vegas rankings from a bookmaker I just looked at, a 3. The reason it's not higher in future betting is they know we'll get a bad seed.

Everything depends on how many members of the Selection Committee decide to use advanced metrics this year as a substantial part of their decision-making process.

I will say an 8 or 9. I'm sure they would like to get us out as soon as possible ( 2nd round against #1 seed). If the boys have that fire in their eyes like they did against Illinois St. I say bring on any team.

This was posted by Matt Norlander who visited with committee members this morning.

"Committee members are very aware of how highly rated the Shockers are in metrics. I’d be stunned if the Shox aren’t a single-digit seed."

Only if they schedule at least 3 true road games non conference

To me this year feels different than most going into selection Sunday. I'd say the best comparison was the undefeated team. We are coming off winning Arch Madness, unlike the last couple years. We don't have egg on our face of coming off a loss going into the big dance, just like the undefeated team. In the undefeated season there was a little bit of a public outcry about us deserving the 1 seed, just like there is much talk about us deserving a better seed this year. That year we were actually given the correct seed (we will ignore the shitty matchup for this point). I feel there is enough talk about us being underseeded that they will keep us off the 8/9 line. My money is on a 7 seed, but I'm praying for a 6.

I agree, I actually think we will get the seven seed. The heat the committee would take from a one seed if we are an 8/9 would be pretty hot.

Unless it's against a 1 seed Gonzaga. Could definitely see the committee hosing the Zags that way.

Bilas just made the point that we are a 4 or 5. And giving us an 8 or 9 would be terrible for whichever #1 seed it is. So.

We will either be in with Gonzaga to screw them, or we'll be a 7 or 10 so the committee doesn't have to hear the ****.

Give us a one line penalty from the two best metric systems - a three seed

none of those articles mentioned that wichita state is an ap top-20 team. they should be a 5 seed or 6 at worst. ezy pezy.

i'll guess the commitee says 7 (not in the midwest though, even though they should be.. gotta stick it to the shockers somehow).

I going the other way. We have single digit metrics, top 20 team, history of winning games in the dance with most being upsets (based on seed). With the committee knowing the outcry if an 8 seed is favored over a 2, they are going to give some shocker love an place us as a 5. This year they do right thing!

That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Now, feel free to call me an idiot.
