All five of those Arch Madness title games have come in the last ten years. Talk about getting so close to the victory chalice and always getting turned away.

They're a bubble team. We will see how they stack up their 27 wins against nobody vs 17-15 in the P5.

I'm really glad we will get to learn what the selection committee values this year by watching the OTHER bubble teams rather than sweating it ourselves. Illinois State should be in but they might not be so that a 15 loss BCS team gets a spot. It will be really frustrating if a lot of that type of stuff happens. But it won't be happening to us :)

This performance from Illinois State probably won’t help its case, but I think it says more about Wichita State and how good Shockers are.

              • Just want to get confirmation and make sure I can believe my eyes:

Did Dan Muller's entire Dana Ford coach poach and player poach debacle with Hawkins really just come to a story book ending on national tv? With Dana long gone, having left for the first gig offered to him elsewhere and with Hawkins getting ejected from his final MVC game for bad behavior in a blowout loss to WSU that the whole nation was watching?

I literally could not have asked for a better kind of closure on that whole prolonged chapter.

It's a storybook ending like when the villain's greatest strength was also his greatest weakness and ultimately the hero beats him with it by exploiting it. And I'm talking about Muller, not Ford or even Hawkins. Getting talent at all costs was the catch 22 that led to this unbelievable meltdown.

Darral just put his hands up and backed away, and they both got T-ed up.
As I recall, the announcers even said it looked like "all Hawkins".
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

They've gotten a little better, but everytime Will Kunkle praises Wsu it's impossible to take him seriously. He will always be a biased beaker in my book.
Problem is Parsons is a Syracuse fan, Kunkle is a Northwestern fan, grad... So their talk of wsu is always hallow. Too bad wsu doesn't have communications degree. ;)

Personally, when viewed in isolation, I did not think the incident warranted a technical on either player. However, no way to know what, if anything, may have preceded that incident. There could have been a lot of chirping and taunting preceding that and it's possible the stripes had already told them to cool it and felt they needed to make a preemptive move to tamp things down a bit. Hard to say for sure. If that wasn't the case it should have just been a warning. I've seen much worse happen without a double technical called.

Multiple ESPN/CBS analysts on Twitter said the exact same thing. It was a dumb double tech. Should have be a warning, worst case was a Tech on Hawkins.

The refs seem to like giving double technicals when we play the Redbirds in St. Louis. Wasn't that the call with Stutz in Wilkins years back?
