Crazy how we're the one team that has really spearheaded this conversation because of the disparity. The conversation probably would not be so far along if it weren't for last season and this season.

The argument is going to lose some of its luster when we have an RPI of 30.

      • three turnovers. three..

i really think the rest of the valley doesn't quite understand what's happening at wichita state, what with the loss of van vleet and baker. they don't seem to be connecting it all. of course st. louis isn't guaranteed.. never is.. but reading their respective boards after every game, they're not quite getting it yet, still.

Even after today's game, the Bradley board still is saying "they aren't as good as last year, and it's not even close"

...this team is better, offensively at least

I just saw that. Last years offense could be pretty bad at times (by our standards), I believe it was our worst offensive efficiency rating since Marshall's first year (Kenpom).

They are also talking about us running up the score. It's just us playing.

            Shamet 25
            Brown 22
            McDuffie 21
            Frankamp 21
            Morris 19=
108 minutes from our starters, and none were in foul trouble to bring the minutes down.

            • The reason we are running up the score is pretty simple. In the past, our starters got a lead and then other teams could come back a little when both Ron and Fred sat at the end of the game.

Now we sit our starters, and the bench is still better than what they have on the court. And we sit our bench so our deep bench can run alley oop plays and hit 3 threes on the night.

It isn't that our best players are head and shoulders above the rest for the conference. It is that our 11th man is as good or better than many starters. Short of putting Hamilton at PG it is hard for us to put up a weak lineup.

We also play at a much faster tempo than last year with significantly better overall ball movement, with fantastic shooting from a lot of different positions. Teams get exhausted against us, and it is really hard to focus the defense when everyone is threat. Most MVC teams lack the personnel to run a 10man deep defense that can go 40 minutes and guard 1-5 at a high level.

              • BTW, I loved RK playing point forward at times last night. His motor is off the charts right now. If he could consistently hit FTs...

He's playing great ever since he jumped into the junkyard dog role with both feet. BTW he's 14-19 from the line over the last 4 games, if he can sustain that pace we're in great shape.
Its a good landing if you can walk away, its a great landing if the plane can be reused the next day.

Wheat beat me to it but yeah, the guy is playing under control but with an energy and anger that is fun to watch. I still cringe when I see him launch one from beyond the arc but watching his growth this season has been a thing of beauty.

This team is better, when leading, by far

If they think we ran the score up last night, I can't wait to see their reactions on how next year goes with everybody back.

                        • I had to wonder why Marty kept Brown on the floor so late in a game obviously lost. Run the kid into the ground just so he can get another scoring title? Relax Marty, the scoring title's his.
Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

                          • I thought it was pretty cool that Tekele's appearance in the senior video got the biggest buzz from the crowd. But I guess that was because after seeing a clip from Ron, something from Fred and Evan was expected. The words from Mr. Dunk Angry were awesome!

I've been impressed with how well RK has handled the ball in the open court. He is very capable. Dude is just fun to watch. RK, MM, and ZB have been playing with their hair on fire lately, especially on the defensive end. And let's not even talk about the scrum last night. That was awesome. Although I cringe worrying about injuries. At least AR wasn't in that pile.
