From above - my personal opinions. Maybe this thread was not
the best place for me to site them. I watch every game and they
are based strictly on my own observations. If LS and CF play as
well as they did Sunday and stay out of foul trouble it would help
    the situation a great deal.

DSmith was almost too good early on. He was playing with energy and confidence. Lately, I don't see any confidence from him. He is very timid, his passing is a step late (imo, because he is thinking too much), and he hasn't attacked the rim since he posterized OU. I am disappointed in DS, but I think most of that comes from coach saying 'he's the fastest guy on the court' and I watched him get beat down the court by a Bradley ball handler. He either isn't that quick, or he isn't using it. We know it takes a while for PGs to find their way in WSU's system, I'm willing to be patient with DS. In the meantime, I really like what I've seen out of Frankamp. Sign me up for Shamet and Frankamp getting 28-30mins.

Thanks. I didn't hear the show, so wasn't sure if this was maybe something you thought coach was hinting at. FWIW, I mostly agree with your post/opinion.

          3. If AR can't go then ZB probably needs to move to the two guard
          4. CJK has been given a chance also and he is not ready yet
          5. LS and CF will need to play 32-38 minutes in close games
I don't think 'ZB' (Brown or Bush) has the necessary skills to play the two. :)

Marshall on Daishon was that he has lost some confidence since his role has changed (taken out of starting line up), and that he has to produce more to get his confidence back so he can get more time. He said that Daishon has to figure it out for himself.

Coach also said they are giving DS opportunities to succeed and need him to succeed but DS has come up empty the last 4-5 games.

IIRC - 3G ask DS if he thought the staff did not want him to succeed or if there was something they had done that was holding him back. DS reply was no. 3G basically said Shocker Basketball playing time is earned and there is no crying about it. EARN IT.

IMO, this is the first time he's really been challenged for playing time - he just needs to get his mind right.

Evan was more of a two than ZB for heavens sake :sentimental:

Yep. And I'm not claiming that he is now, nor will become a world-beater.

But I think he's being undervalued, and I think he has some very big moments ahead of him.

I hope you're right but he's gonna have to develop some handles in a hurry and either hit a jump shot or stop taking them.

I personally believe he peaked in his freshman year.

I just wish that when he throws caution the way of the wind, and decides to dribble, he would please keep his head up. That's all. Other than that, keep cleaning the glass young man. Just like Evan.

I'm not opposed to people feeling that way, or saying their opinion is unfounded. I'm just optimistic about him. And buying low.

That's probably overly harsh. He's in the middle (end, hopefully) of a pretty rough stretch, but he's had some really great games this year.

He had a five game stretch from Southern Nazarene through Oklahoma State where he averaged 12.8 pts, 4.2 rebounds, was shooting 50% from 3 and had more assists than turnovers. As a freshman, he only scored in double figures twice, and he had seven assists on the year. I think your memory of him as a freshman is tainted by a really good performance against Indiana and a great play against KU.
