Gal was a good guy and really did a pretty decent job filling in for Matt during his absience this last year.

I assume he will get his wish to play the point with Maccabi and I think his experience filling in for Matt this year will serve him well.

Hope things go well for Gal with his new team.

Every time HCGM would talk about the future of this team he was alway shoving out the possibility that Gal might not come back. I assumed at the time that he was really just preparing the fan base for this day - so this is not surprising.

I wish him good luck and time to move on and find out who's going to take his place.

I don't see this as a huge loss. In rebuilding the team, HCGM will replace him with a better player which will add more success to the team's overall playing ability.

          Good luck Gal.

I think you're correct. They just might be nice posts now. Or he'll find a new person to defend.

Anybody know the terms of the contract?

I'd be curious to find out what he's going to pull over there.

I disagree. Although it has nothing to do with his talent level, since Gal clearly didn't fit into Marshall's system, I think that most of what he would have done next year is take minutes that could have gone to younger guys recruited for the system.

We might not be quite as good without Gal next year, but probably better off over the long run to have the scholarship taken up by someone who fits the system. It is also much better for Gal to be playing where he can be a star and his skill set is best used. All in all, I think this is the best for all involved.

He would've helped a lot more by finishing the semester and not counting against our graduation rate. Maybe he'll still finish, but the article in the paper did not sound too positive. Hopefully, it won't cost us down the line.

Gal seemed to be at his best when Matt B. was injured. I'm with The Mad Hatter on this one. It will be a win-win decision for both Gal and the Shocker Program in the long run. Even so, he was a Shocker and he gave us some fine moments and great effort. It was fun watching Gal play.

Gal didn't fit into HCGM's system of play. Gal had plenty of talent but it is more suited to the "International style of play". Coach couldn't classify him as a point or a shooting guard, just a guard that plays hard.

I think Gal came here wanting to be a PG and I don't think it was going to happen here. He did a good job filling in for Matt when he was injured, but I don't think he was a HCGM style PG. He has a lot of talent and a lot of heart and I wish him luck playing in Israel and in the future maybe he can even make it to the NBA.
