    LOL for sure!
That thread was called "The New and Improved Fire Barry Hinson Thread" until last night. They changed the name after the mini rant yesterday.

I can't find any video on this and its bumming me out.
Its a good landing if you can walk away, its a great landing if the plane can be reused the next day.

You got to give those skivvy wearing, Cheeto eating, basement dwelling Saluki fans some credit. They have a very entertaining message board.

      • I REALLY wanted that win for them last night and it broke my heart. They came so close. I'd much rather Barry be my hero that gives us the outright title than Jacobsen, but I like Jacobsen on some level too

Agreed completely. It's win/win for me... if UNI happens to win, it's for a good cause, but any time UNI loses for me, it doesn't suck.

          • Speaking of Bradley getting better.....

2 of their freshmen, Hodgson and Kennell, have combined to shoot 46-90 threes in conference, just a shade over 51%. That's strong stuff, especially since Brown was their best freshmen for most of the season.

In comparison, Shamet and Frankamp have combined to shoot 77-150 in conference, from 3. Just a hair over the Braves %. Also strong.

            • UNI will beat Illinois State and their fans will go insane. Well... more insane. Then they will lose on Friday to Missouri State or Bradley and be done, having not made the NIT and mulling over their invite to be a last seed in the CBI or CIT if even that. Before a gme is played in the CIT, someone will have already posted about NEXT year's NCAA tournament that they are a lock for.

I believe that if they win the regular season, but don't get invited to the NCAA, that they are automatically qualified for the NIT.

This is true but does it still apply to shared conference titles?

I was talking about UNI from start to finish. We will face Illinois State Sunday and they are a 100% lock for at least the NIT even if they don't win another game. They are very close to an at large for the dance and probably earn the spot if they make it to Sunday.

In this hypothetical, they are not conference champs, right? Since in the fantasy they lose to UNI? I can't imagine Dave is predicting us to lose on Saturday.

Edit: Dave clarified and it seems like we both misunderstood.

                        • Illinois State opens at -2 vs UNI. I smell a very small upset brewing!

I hope you're right. I also hope we take that WSU-13 line and triple it.

A couple weeks ago, I would've admitted that many of my comments about Illinois State dropping games were really just me rooting against them. Now, after witnessing the way they've won many of their games down the stretch, I think it is safe to say they are teetering and winning some of these games on luck. They are a great defensive team, but they are winning games 50-46 right now. I guarantee, if they faced the same Evansville team that just scored 80 points on us, they lose that game. It all comes down to if ANY of these MVC teams can put together a solid offensive night against the Burds. It's a tough defense to overcome, but they are making it look possible.

                              • The thing with ISUr that I wrestle with is A) they are due for a loss as this is the inevitable course of their inertia; or B) they keep finding ways to eek it out (which I do respect) and will continue to do or the momentum carry them through the rough patch. My gut tells me it is the former.
