Did Morris not play?

Actual injury (bruised thigh). Marshall thought Morris was maybe exaggerating the injury a bit - he got hurt before the OU game, and it got worse that game. Medical exam showed it was an injury that should keep him out of the game.

Maybe shouldn't have played against OSU.

I believe Coach Marshall said he had a hematoma.

"A hematoma is an abnormal collection of blood outside of a blood vessel. It occurs because the wall of a blood vessel wall, artery, vein, or capillary, has been damaged and blood has leaked into tissues where it does not belong."

Hematoma is a fancy name for a bruise. Sorta like myocardial infarction versus heart attack.

Michael is an interesting caller on the Shocker postgame show; after rambling for 5 minutes, he said he better get back to eating his spaghetti, and by the way, his dog Max says hello. I'm betting he consumes a bottle of vino before making the call. :)

Willis sure was a good get for Marshall and the Shocks. Love his game

Dude, is just a beast. His laser fast moves to the basket are pretty impressive. He has a little X in his game. He's definitely gonna pay huge dividends in the Valley and is on the verge of becoming our most consistent and important offensive player.

Good overall game. Tied for the most 3's in school history. Some of the turnovers are just mind-mumblingly bad. Our perimeter defense was once again a little shaky in spots. I loved MM's intensity on both sides of the ball. His defensive intensity was especially noticeable. His 5 picks were solid. A good win to head into the break.

Attendance was there. Most of the seats were filled, noticeably the student section - packed at the top with non-students.

Crowd enthusiasm and energy still is an F. There were segments of fans begging to stand up and give a little charge to the arena. Most people were content with being lethargic. It's definitely not the same environment in that building anymore. Just chalk it up to another double-digit blowout against a sucky opponent I guess.

Once we get Shaq healthy and he plays 25 minutes plus per game along with Willis and Mcduffie and Brown at the 3 that's a tough front line for most teams to handle. Especially Valley teams. Still think our guards will keep improving, we have multiple 3 point shooters. The need will be do we have a guard or guards that can penetrate and kick out under control? Conner had a few sweet drives, can he make that more a part of his game....I think Smith has that ability also. Will be fun to watch this team develop into the team we know they can be.

Indeed. They have many creative promotional times throughout the year.

Santa's Little Helpers is good.....Halloween is fantastic. Black Friday is good as well.

Valentine's Day is heart warming. There are several others. I suggest attending them all so you alone can compare.

The substitution pattern was waaaay different.

I expected that we would see some CJ at the 3.

Willis will be newcomer of the year in the MVC.

The Jacks had better players than I expected.

Crowd was pretty good.

Freddy's on the way in, always a plus.

Totally agree. Willis has been far and away the biggest positive surprise IMO. I think he will do great in the Valley, and is fully capable of holding his own vs BCS bigs in March. Next year, he could be MVC player of the year material.

LS being able to hit three's enables CF to play more at PG.
I, for one, think we need either SM or RN on the court against
teams with good post up players and believe last night was
just an experimental starting line up against a smaller team.
If we are going to dance and dance well SM has to do better
than 7.6/3.3 OR we will have to hit threes north of 40% like
we did last night. Would like to see Shaq at least at 9/6 and
playing solid defense every limited minute he is on the court.
RN is pretty decent defensively and opponents cannot ignore
him offensively inside or out. Would like to see DS penetrate.
If he can't be a threat to penetrate his value declines.

Do we have to have pictures of women in game threads? Women are on the threads here too and it feels like I'm in donald trumps locker room at times with these pictures.

It's 2016, not the 1980's. ShockerNet needs to clean up its locker room mentality.
