He did later on say one of the players probably did have cramps or was a very good actor. But it was clear he wasn't happy about the toughness in general and especially some individuals in practice.

It was clear that he wasn't happy about getting punched in the mouth Saturday and not being tough back.

You couldn't pay me to have sat through film session today. No amount of money.

Gregg admitted he should have called timeouts.....it's just not in his DNA.

Thanks, Doc -- I didn't hear the show. Still, time outs weren't going to save the Shocks Saturday. They walked into a gunfight with only a couple of bullets in the cylinder, and the results weren't going to change much no matter what the coaches said.

                Two unrelated questions.

I got the idea that he was talking about malingerers. Also he said, that we could probably guess who they were. So, Shaq Durley/JT Morris and one or two others.

I guess I'm not a big believer in 'punishment' practices. What's the point? Got walloped, got out hustled, got out coached, gotoutprepared/intensified, whatever you want to call it.. all of the above...but it's one game with a new team that is finding itself, that GREGG RECRUITED....By no means do I mean coddle, but use that practice to get better, not 'prove a point'...these guys WILL be good, but they arte not there yet...but can be...and even the experienced players were role players in the past.

Was the game beyond rugged? No doubt...but if you say you were out coached, then run with the kids, because ALL share a part.

BTW...BIG Marshall fan...and I don't have any glimmer into yesterday's practice beyond radio show, so this may be way off base, and if so, my apologies.

I'm glad we have Marshall leading our program. What I took away from this interview is he knows the team including himself didn't execute the plan against osu and he is working on fixing it. He knows that they have no real leadership yet on this team. I don't think leadership is something a coach can teach someone. It's built into a persons DNA. The coach can help bring it out but can't do it for the players.

At least we aren't like Nebraska right now.

Hey, Gardner Webb is really, really good!
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Oh, and Nebraska has Gregg on their short list, so you better hope they turn things around!

I can understand if Shaq was one of the players who "bowed out". His thigh was still clearly bothering him on Saturday. It was bothering him in the OU game as well, and you could see it dispite his great performance. So I won't throw Shaq under the bus by assumption.

I got the impression that the injury if sustained in the osu game was not indicated by the individual and as coach Marshall pointed out "hurt our team by not pointing it out". He took responsibility in that he felt perhaps the staff actually hurt them mentally by dwelling on how tough osu was going to be and how this was going to be a fight. He felt if a couple of shots had gone early it might have been a different ballgame. Coach was in no mood to give anyone any slack. MK made the comment about "when osu cooled down" and 3G quickly asked MK "Mike when did osu cool down?"

As I recall when he was talking about toughness he qualified it
by saying it was more about mental toughness than physical
toughness and referred to several players not digging down
                                and hustling back on defense.
