I believe that is called the teepee technique.

I'm not sure Austin is as fragile as many of us think he is but it is strange the things you notice with him that you would never otheriwise give a second thought about.
The pick Austin ran into when his shoulder dislocated, he hit pretty hard. My shoulder may have dislocated after that.

Player A is the superior defender without question. But I don't see a plurality of fans talking up d. I hear about all the missed shots.

Nobody seems to be clamoring for Shamet's minutes to be reduced. Conner is doing fine. Sorry he missed his FIRST 2 free throws of the season in a tough spot yesterday.

Those throws were both in and out too.

              • LS has bigger potential and not sure anyone disagrees. Stock prices are based on future earnings projections.

                • On our 4 guards, I'm to the point any combo of them at the 1 or 2 is fine with me. I do believe minutes played will vary with these 4 game in and game out depending on match ups and who is executing on both sides of the floor during each game. I could even see Austin's minutes continue to increase some. Even so, they all bring attributes to the table that are going to only get better as the Season progresses forward. As far as CF and throws at the end of any close game, if I had the choice, I still want him to be the Shocker that takes them even though he did miss the 2 yesterday. The other 3 will be good at that also, so I'm not worried.

                  • CF was 0-2 at the line against Utah last year. When you're a 90 percent FT shooter missing 2 in a row in a big game is memorable, unfortunately.

                      I agree completely.

Let me know the next time a check mark goes up in the WIN column for potential.

Conner maybe hasn't been great, but like the other 9 starters, he's been mostly good enough and a key component to a winning team.

Of course, you are correct. MK said he had hit 27 in a row prior to those FT's. So 27 of 29 would be 93percent.

                        • I'm fine with the way minutes are currently being distributed. The depth was a huge factor in the win and a big win it was.
I agree with others and thought MM was hacked a few times at the rim but it wasn't called. Have to believe he'll have a breakout game soon.
I was really impressed with the offensive performance and output. OU was no slouch defensively. The unselfishness on the offensive end is truly a thing of beauty and a sign of great coaching.

He is not living up to the expectations that are created by a high school career like the one he had. That's a lot of pressure.

Don't kid yourself, winning is absolutely based on "potential" of the players. There is this thing about producing positive results however that clouds our thinking, including mine at times. Gregg factors potential every time he signs the dotted line on a recruit. Although none of us are in Gregg's head, I am pretty sure he had more in mind about where CF would be at this stage. I also bought in to it. I am off the CF bandwagon in terms of the expecting star-leadership and production. I am not, however writing him off. As you said he is a contributor in this 10-player rotation, and deserves some credit for our early success. He just hasn't consistently delivered his potential/end results against the big boys (L-Ville, MSU, OU) as advertised. Delivering against the Sisters of the Poor is a little different than bringing it in crunch time vs. the big boys. Go CF and go SHOX!!!

Okay, somewhat fair point, but that (I think) ignores his high school situation. Nevertheless, he was a top 50 recruit. And for the record, I completely agree, that IS a LOT of pressure on the young man. Being from Wichita doesn't diminish the pressure...neither does being a transfer from ku, I love the game and wouldn't want to be in that position.

I'll buy he's not living up to expectations. Does that mean some fans should be giving up on him? How many people said "I'm done with Frankamp" after the game yesterday?

He's damned good. Maybe not as good as some want, but he's still damned good.

I'll buy that's he's buckling under pressure, maybe even some of his own doing (although EVERY time he lines up a 3 the entire crowd inhales as if it's a certainty to go in...don't believe me, watch).

I just hate that people are giving him a hard time when clearly he's been solid at WORST so far.....and still, if you don't think he has upside you don't understand the game.
