Great win despite the free throw discrepancy. Thought we rebounded a lot better second half which was a big plus. Smith really came through along with Brown and Morris. We missed a lot of open threes but we hung tough and overcame. Also though Willis had some good minutes and Landry hit a couple drives late which were huge and Reaves continues to impress. Conner hit a few early, then went cold, even missing those two fts. I thought I was dreaming. I still feel we haven't seen the best of Conner. All I know is that it's a long season, we're only a third through it. Nice nice win and Smith better be on the top 10 plays.

No doubt Conner had a pretty dissappointing game. But let's not kid ourselves he wasn't the only one. Landry, Markis, Rashard and Rauno did not exactly have their best games either. Considering that and the big free throw disparity that only narrowed late in the game when OU had to foul to extend the game this really shows something very positive about this Shocker team. To face these circumstances and still come out with a win over a very athletic OU team in OKC is reallly pretty impressive.
Zach1, Daishon, Shaq, Darral and Austin carried the load today and picked up their teammates who struggled some. Who knows who it will be next time around.
Shocker starters = 36 points; Shocker bench = 40 points. This is the identity of this Shocker team.
Zach1 has all of a sudden become a maker. Hopefully, he can sustain it. Great to see.Last edited by 1972Shocker; December 10, 2016, 09:22 PM.

Everyone relax. It is all part of the plan. I will give you some inside info. Just don't tell anyone I told you....
The players draw straws to determine who will have "off games" before each one. This is done to keep teams from being able to scout us. They never know who it will be. Conner and some others will draw the correct straws again soon. It will be ok....

That was a very fun first game for me to attend this year. How did we sound on TV? I'm thinking everyone watching had to be wondering where all the noise was coming from since a majority of us were behind the camera in the upper level.
Excited to attend next weekend's game as well. Go Shocks!
