CKA is a special place, and the Roundhouse Renaissance was a massive success and is still aging well, but the banners in their current format are a detraction in a number of ways.
Back when the Roundhouse Renaissance was in the conceptual phase, there were professional drawings out there featuring the banners in the middle of the ceiling, around the scoreboard like spokes of a wheel or rays of light. Looked sharp. Those drawings are still out there as I've seen them relatively recently, but I'm on mobile so I'm not messing with it right now.
TOTALLY agree on the Play Angry and MTXE thought too. Such a marketing and branding pot of gold sitting at their feet, and they're too busy doing who knows what to notice, integrate, and capitalize.

I like how they found a way to get more seats closer to the court though. Wyoming has theirs closer inside the ceiling but not as close to the scoreboard and facing out rather than a spoke pattern. I like the spoke pattern around scoreboard. I don't recall seeing it done like that anywhere else.
I like that lower section a lot more than the lower section in Koch. Sitting along the sideline in most other arenas, you feel a lot closer to the action than you do in Koch.

I believe I read that Levitt Arena was a model for the design of the TCU arena, they just built theirs smaller than Levitt. Didn't they just drop that floor to to fill in the side line seating a few years ago?"Hank Iba decided he wouldn't play my team anymore. He told me that if he tried to get his team ready to play me, it would upset his team the rest of the season." Gene Johnson, WU Basketball coach, 1928-1933.
