I think this needs revisited. Not only because of how right you were and the credit you deserve for it, but also for how not hard it was for you to be right. I sometimes wonder how much college basketball the resident ref apologists actually watch. When I read your post I would have bet a lot of dollars that you were right, and I would have put money on him trying to give Shaq his 4th foul. Janssen had managed to get the game tied up at 57. Then one of his referee mates had the audacity to call a charge on CSU after WSU had opened up a 4 point lead. It was classic Janssen. It's a clear case of a ref saying, "that call you made didn't reward the team I wanted it to, some I'm going to override it with my own call." I was curious if his animosity towards WSU would be lessened this year with FVV gone, but apparently not. The man has an agenda.

What was really strange to see, and a refreshing change, was that the ref that called the CSU charge stood up to Janssen by calling a questionable rebounding foul against CSU on the ensuing possession. The Shox received a relatively fair whistle the remaining 8 minutes and the rout was finally allowed to be on.

Colorado won't be on the schedule anymore than Creighton will be anytime soon.

Reading between the lines, then, I assume we can scratch Maryland off the list as well...

        • I don't remember seeing enough praise to Shaq in this thread. He gave over 20 good minutes which included a few NBA type moves.

I want a replay of his turn, drive from the 3pt line and slam.

Good call. Specifically the baseline drive and slam and the spin move to the soft touch floater.

He's the best player on the team when he's locked in.

DVR is a good thing. Did I get the name right this time?

Agreed. In a game with quite a few bs foul calls, he had over 20 minutes and was our second-leading scorer and top rebounder. In my opinion, this was one of the best games of his career.

I did not know that he was capable of that drive and stuff. That was a very impressive move. He was fouled more than a little bit as well, and still finished.

I watched the replay again last night (yep, this old fart has a DVR) and Shaq only had a couple of brain cramps. The moving screen was silly (he put his hip into the defender while setting the screen) and there was a loose ball in the first half where he should have pounced on it and instead went brain-dead. The rebound follow-dunk, the NBA spin move floater and the one-handed slam were all special.

P.S. Austin Reaves will be special if he stays healthy. Yipes Stripes Beechnut Gum!

Forgot about the rebound follow dunk. There was another Shocker (can't remember who) in the area and Shaq almost flushed him through the hoop along with the ball.

                            McDuffie.

If Morris had not jammed it, McDuffie had a shot at SC Top10. Not that I'm complaining. But watching the replay, if McDuffie had been able to slam it from where he was, it would have been unbelievable.

I think Mark would play WSU under the right circumstances, although I'm sure it wouldn't be his first choice.

Tad's reasons would be completely different, and Creighton is an entirely separate and unrelated discussion.
