Rauno was suppose to screen but Smith rushed it...

Kennedy asked if there were any positives for playing close to quality competition - Marshall said no positives for not closing out a game.

Marshall said that Smith was vital in the comeback with his play. He was vocal, positive and spearheaded the comeback.

Willis technical was inexcusable. Willis excuse was he was competing - Marshall said that is not competing, but hurting the team.

Marshall says he has to get better on the defensive end.

Marshall was very complementary of Rauno and his play this season. Said they need Rauno to play well because Shaq can only play 10 minutes a game.

Coach is not going to hand out any participation ribbons tonight. Obviously still miffed that we didn't win cause that's what he's about, not coming close.

On Shamet - very athletic, can be a very good defender and good shooter but didn't play well in Bahamas. Says he can't put a finger on why he is not playing better except he is just missing easy shots. It was pointed out is he is still a freshman.

Coach still being angry today, 3-4 days afterwards, is exactly why our team WILL get better and be awesome in the games that are coming. The practices that are happening in the days to follow are going to be great practices and will galvanize the team. Nothing wrong with some educational losses early on.

Maybe that's actually the strategy employed by the rest of the MVC. Lose a ton of games because you learn from losses :) we've got some great coaches in the MVC

On Markis - has the physical side down, but is weak on the mental side. Ran some specific plays for him, and he blew the plays. Is missing checkouts at time. He is talented, has a good heart but just needs to be there mentally all the time.

On the press - he is not sure how deep WSU is in the guard position. This team needs to press more because this team is not as good defensively in the half-court.

Where WSU is at in this point of the season - Marshall says he is gainfully employed. This team desperately needs a coach, he hope he is the guy for it because there is a lot of things this team needs to improve on.

Marshall says he doesn't know what this team ceiling is, but the ceiling is higher than how they played their last 2 games.

On the Managers - They do a great job and work hard.

Lineup will be changed tomorrow. He will try and get the one who like to score to play more defense, and those who like to play defense to score more.

CJ Keyser missing the summer and fall set him back. He is making good progress and his time is coming.

On Shaq - like to see him down low more. He says Shaq lacks motivation, toughness and passion. When he is on, he is great. He is not going to start.
