No prediction from me, but I suspect our guys were salivating at the lack of interest Louisville showed in defensive rebounding.
ODU reminded me of a poor man's WSU in many ways (last year, not this year). Slow the game down, be deliberate, pound the glass, incredible D.
Their length should cause us problems, our skill and depth should cause them the same.
Our guys have worked their collective tails off to get to this point.....at least in the minds of others. A win today elevates them to elite status. Gregg Marshall hits more than he misses with these types of opportunities.
I'm pretty sure the gents will be focused, dialed in and ready to Play Angry. You know Coach Jan's scouting report will be deep and spot on. Who leads the scoring today? At the beginning of the season, I thought this would be a game in which we wouldn't prevail. But now, after watching this team kick butt from the start, I'm really rethinking my preseason prediction. I expect a defensive battle this afternoon but our depth and better offense will prevail.
Pregame analysis and predictions of the Louisville Cardinals vs. Wichita State Shockers NCAAM game to be played on November 24, 2016 on ESPN.
"Despite its 68-62 overtime win over Old Dominion ending after midnight early Thursday, No. 10 Louisville won't get any extra time to prepare for a showdown against Wichita State at 2:30 p.m. ET on Thursday (ESPN) in the Battle 4 Atlantis at Paradise Island, Bahamas.
The Cardinals (4-0) will need to fit in showers, sleep, breakfast, team meetings and lunch before they return to the court 13 hours later vs. the feisty Shockers.
"We won't make any excuses," Louisville coach Rick Pitino said. "We'll just have to adjust on the fly and see what happens. But we have no prep time...."
Thought LSU might be a step up in competition we were hoping to see but the proved to be more like Tulsa then Kentucky. Louisville did not play that well against ODU but I think today the Shocks will finally face a team who is capable and willing of punching back.
