  • Conner broke the SIU game open

This was one of the best team effort wins of the season. So many shockers contributed significantly to the win, but the game was broken open when Conner make three 3s in a row to build a large lead.

    This guy can shoot.

2-24 is a long ago bad dream, never to happen again. (Hopefully)

That sort of shooting cost us several times last year, @ISUr, Miami, and 2X with UNI. We also won some games where we shot poorly from 3. This years squad is a much better outside shooting team, even if 1 or 2 guys have an off night we are still pretty good.
Its a good landing if you can walk away, its a great landing if the plane can be reused the next day.

          • Add on to the fact there is a legit post game, makes a HUGE difference. If the shots aren't falling, SM, RN, MM, or DW can get some buckets inside. Which in turn also means the jump shooters aren't nearly as crowded.

Our post game wasn't bad last year when Anton was healthy. We are deeper this year so your point has some merit.

I did a little quick research and found 12 games last season where we shot under 30% from 3. There have been 6 such games this year the last of which was at ISUb to open Valley play.

              • Cooled off a bit from the field today, but still played well. Team hi 5 assists a block and a steal.

                • Fred and Ron in the building and Conner doesn't shoot as well as he has been. Coincidence?

                    Deferred to the 16th row.

                    • When Frankamp first came to WSU, I didn't think he could play PG and I thought he was too small to be effective at SG. I was wrong about the SG part of that.

When Frankamp came to WSU, I thought he lacked fortitude. His quitting KU the way he did made me think he didn't have the internal drive to succeed when things got tough. I was wrong.

When Frankamp was considering WSU, I didn't want him here. I thought he was just a shooter and a suburban horse player. I was wrong.

It took him some time and he put in one hell of an effort to get his complete game to the level it is now. I believe he had a lot of work to do on the defensive end. A lot of hard, hard work, and he put in the effort and did the work.

Once he had his defense to the level it needed to be and the efforts to make him a PG was ended, my goodness did he show what he can do. Now he's shooting off of screens, which was new for him. He's doing some catch and shoot, which also wasn't part of his game. His little dribble-jab step to get an open look is what he used a lot in HS, and he's making it work at the D1 level.

I wasn't ever as far anti-Frankamp as some, but this is a great post. +1

Totally agree, except I would say he was an adequate PG, but that's about it. Had he stayed in that position, I think we would have really missed out.

Agreed. I think he is definitely adequate as a secondary point when necessary, but as a 2, he's an all conference guy.

                              I'd say!

                              • I'll go ahead and drop the Antishock defcon to level 1. If the Antishock is nigh, it's not Conner.
