  • No secret by now that I like RN. EH did some good things today,
especially on the boards, but has a very hard time reading the moves
to the basket of the man he is guarding. He just allows to many easy
baskets. Right now RN is better defensively and that is why he is
getting more minutes. RN gets his body in better position to defend
and gets his arms extended which makes him harder to score against.
I'd like to see him jump better though. Once again, GM had him in
there with SM down the stretch. Even I was surprised by that as one
would think ZB would have been in there or RK but GM went with RN.
I'd like to see a haircut though. No sense putting a target on yourself
    in road games.

They were trying to get ZB in there from about two minutes or so to go.

      • One thing I noticed was that when Hamilton was in the game, the guards seemed to immediately try to get him the ball. 3 for 3 on limited minutes was the best sign to me.

He's never had any problems getting the ball into the basket. I think it helped having him play the 5 rather than his natural stretch 4. It kept him close to the basket and gave him an even bigger edge with his quickness and athleticism. He didn't have the opportunity to collect any charges/turn overs by driving to the basket from the wing.

          • Hamilton's line was:

            7 minutes 6 points (3/3). 3 rebounds, 2 fouls.

            • Funny to see the differing opinions on Hamilton and his progression. I was out of town, so only got to watch bits and pieces on my phone. Will be interesting to watch it on DVR.

If we have 12 guys who avg Hamilton's line, we have 171 pts per game, 86 rebounds per game, and 1-3 guys out of the 12 left on the floor at the end of the game (57 fouls total) Think we could run up the lead and hold on?

                • I think it's safe to say that things happen when Hamilton is on the floor.

Too small of a sampling. If he can play consistently the way he did for 7 minutes, I will take it! My guess we saw Dr Jekyl, but Mr Hyde still dominates practice. I'm hopeful for a steady progression from a well built athlete getting ready to begin his sophomore season.

The intro/video team upped their game this year. Stellar work.
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take....

.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

                          • They nailed it with the bring 'em out music this year. It isn't that hard, but they have been failing for years. It rocks, and it has a strong steady beat even people without rhythm can clap along with.

What is the song they used for the starting lineup video?
