  • Take care of business this week and we should be in next week.

Honestly this is much higher than I would have expected 2 weeks ago. No real issues here.

Agree. With the regular season drawing to a close ranks don't mean much to me. But it is still fun to keep an eye on.

Do you think 25+ teams would have beat us on Saturday? Do you just think our body of work isn't one of the 25 best in the country? Do you think we haven't shown ourselves to be consistent enough to warrant being one of the 25 best teams in the country? etc.
My opinion only, I think I've watched 25 teams that are better than WSU, overall. 2 nights ago, no, I don't think there were 25 teams better than WSU on that night, but I'm trying to weigh the entire season, which I understand I view in a fish bowl with WSU. I'm just saying that I think there are 25 teams that are overall better than WSU right now, taking the entire season into play. I would put WSU around 30-40 somewhere. That I think they are improving is only a small factor. That they are improving in no way affects other teams improving as well. Some will, some won't. Just an opinion that's all!

My reasons are mostly I think we're size deficient compared to a lot of really good teams and I think we lack quickness and speed at the point guard position and we aren't the strongest team I've seen, by a lot.

More than a legitimate opinion. There are just too many ways to rank teams 1-25, so I was interested in hearing how you got to your conclusion.

          • With the offense firepower we have this year plus the defensive heights we're capable of reaching, and have started to sniff, I'm skeptical there are 25 teams better teams in country.

            • Baylor loses at home to an unranked team and drops 4 spots. West Virginia loses at home to an unranked team and drops 7 spots. FUKU loses at home to an unranked team and drops zero spots. This is why the voters' credibility is quite regularly called into question. The majority of them suffer from rectal cranial imposition. I have no complaints about WSU being at 26 right now, but these voters just continue to impress.

Quality loss. It doesnt mean KU is overrated. It just meanscIowa State was waaaaaay underrrated. See how this works?

Baylor lost twice last week. One of those was to Kansas.

Call me crazy, but that seems relevant.

                    • I'm surprised Duke didn't jump to #4. Coach K is back after all.

                      • To put it another way...

Of the 6 teams immediately behind KU in last week's poll:
                        - 4 lost a game this week
                        - 1 did pass KU
                        - 1 (Louisville) gained ground and is barely behind KU

Basically, you can gripe that Louisville didn't jump KU, but that's really the only possible team that could have, and yet didn't. Given Louisville beat two nobodies last week, its not that surprising that they would only go from 6 to 4, and not jump KU for the #3 spot.

Yep. And it's even more funny that they lost at home, where Iowa State automatically had to make up 20 points worth of bad officiating. In reality, it was about a 20 point KU loss and they still didn't drop.

                            ... No really, deuces.

Who, besides potentially Louisville, do you think should have passed them?
