  • Question about seating and tickets to OKC and Chesapeake Arena

I was looking online (Stubhub) about Chesapeake Arena and getting tickets to see the OU game on 12/10.

    1. Does anyone know about seating in that arena. I have never been there and looking for best seat locations.

    2. Does anyone know which side of the court will the Shock's have their bench?

    Thanks in advance.

I have only been there a couple of times, but I cannot really remember any details about the seating.

Ticket information will be available on Monday, going on sale on Tuesday.

I have been to one Thunder game, with seats in the upper deck. Unless you like a very serious birds eye view, I don't recommend the upper deck. The lower bowl also goes back quite a ways, so even the front of the upper deck is well removed. The only upper deck seats I would recommend would be the first few rows of the sections on the sides, not the corners or ends.

This past postseason, I sat in section 323 for Game 6 of the West Semis, plus Games 3 & 4 of the West Finals. For Game 6 of the West Finals, I splurged and sat in section 111 row 15 (happened to be 5 feet from where Ernie/Shaq/Chuck/Kenny were, on the visiting team's baseline). While it was awesome to be closer to the floor, I wish I would have been in 323. No obstructed views, and I could see into both team's huddles perfectly. Seeing the game unfold from the middle of the upper deck is more enjoyable, personally, than being closer and hoping plays don't happen on a certain part of the floor. I do not know if the powers-that-be will keep the bench orientation the same as it is for NBA, but the home bench for Thunder games is in front of sections 116 & 117.

So that would be the Oklahoma bench as the home team right.

I read somewhere that information for this was supposed to be released today with tickets going on sale tomorrow. Has anyone heard any further information? I haven't been able to find anything else.

I too just went back to look. But I don't really expect to see ticket info being released other than the price range they show on Ticketmaster ($8-$36). The go on sale at 10 am tomorrow, so I'm not really holding my breath until then.

Just saw that ShockerHoops released something saying tickets go on sale tomorrow at 10 (we already knew that) and that prices will be $39 or $19 dollars depending where they are. I'm wondering what the ticketmaster fees will be. I looked at tix for an OKC vs. TorRaps game and they were $143 each, but the fees were $38.25 per ticket on top of that.

I'm curious with the price levels what areas of seating are available. I saw earlier someone indicated this game was a part of OU's season ticket package.

I have heard that if an earthquake happens, it is best to have a lower bowl seat close to an exit. :)

Well crap. I guess I'll be watching from home. Got tied up at work and didn't get online until 10:08. Could only see a few upper, upper level seats available. Those were gone by 10:10.

0% chance it's a real sellout. Wait for OU to release all the tickets they're holding onto for whatever reason.
