Sorry to see the young man go, I was looking forward to seeing him on the court. I wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.

We now have at least one scholly available, question is does it go to a big or a guard, and will this be the only one? Let the guessing games and debate begin!

File this on in the category of "we hardly knew ye". Too bad we never got to see him suit up.

this is odd. he spent the year sitting out and now he requests a release for personal reasons.

hopefully everything works out for him, shame.

About a billion reasons that are not salacious come to mind. It takes a lot of focus to go to school and play DI basketball. Dealing with any kind of personal issues would naturally compete for that focus. Hoping he positively handles his business and completes his education.

Truly wish him the best. Was looking forward to seeing him in the rotation and on the court as I thought he was going to be a solid contributor.

Pretty sure 3G saw this coming and, as WUShock16 pointed out, it's why 3G continues to shave everyday.

Well, there's the spot for Gabe Grant, if that works out.

This thread has about a thousand views in just a few hours. Don't post unsubstantiated rumors of a player's drug abuse on the forum of the team you root for.

That quote has already made it to other message boards.

Before spreading rumors, you should always ask yourself "is it true?" If the answer is "I don't know", it's best to not relay the information.

Personal reasons my arse. Scratch that, it probably was personal. He realized that we have too much talent on this team and his PT was looking few and far between. So he breaks out the old true and reliable 'personal reasons' fallback to get the heck out of Dodge and go somewhere else that will offer more PT. Good luck to him and this makes me feel even better about the Shox.

Seems like you didn't read the part where of Marshall's statement where he's stepping away from both basketball and school. Not much playing time available for people not on any team.

This is so off base and classless. You, just like me and the rest of us, have no idea how or why things got to this point. PLUS, he's not even transferring. Read the release.

I find it frustrating that people so quickly jump to this conclusion every time this kind of thing happens.
