2016-17 Preseason Polls Predictions

Recently, when we made the Final 4, we were picked to finish 4th in the Valley of Death. We had more injuries that Season than you could 'shake a stick' at. Thus, as I ponder ahead to this Season as the black and yellow curtains will soon open, this is what this eternal optimist thinks.

I predict we will win the Valley but N. Iowa and maybe Illinois State, pending their player issues, could be closer to us than usual at the Valley finish line. Stubbing our toe at St. Lew shant be prudent for a solid Dance seeding, so let's hope we start peaking to the max, and win there to take the 'guess work' out of Dancing. A solid showing in our tougher Non-Con schedule this Season will be of essence as well which is usually the case for our beloved Shocks anywho.

Speaking of the Dance, my prediction is we get in and win 1-2 games. Now as for the following Season after this one, with all of our key players returning, 'Watch Out' because we will be really good IMO.

A plurality of voters, 48%, chose "31+ Just getting a few votes" in the major polls (AP Writers and the Coaches) and that was where the WSU Shockers have started this 2016-17 campaign. I think this was a very fair assessment, maybe more then fair, and a strong belief in this year's team considering the change in the roster.

I think the Long Beach State game will be a very tough game, Battle 4 Atlantis is likely to see a first round game win, but then up next two very tough games. Get through November in decent shape, and I think we begin a slow march up the poll rankings.
