Since the individual team voting has pretty much come to a crawl (or stopped) on all of the team forums, I went ahead and did a final tally this morning and created the Top 40 list. If you want to see the Top 40 as decided by each team board, click on the link below to see the list:

For those of you that want to rank the Top 40, just log into your MVCTalk.com account, click on Power Rankings, select MVC Top 40 and then click on the red "Create Ranking" button. After you give your ranking a name, you'll see a red "Manage Ranking" button. Click that and then click on the "Create Power Ranking" link and go to town. You can just rank the Top 40 or you can add commentary, stats or other info about the players.

To see other user submitted MVC Top 40 rankings, you can click on the Authors link on the Power Rankings sub navigation bar and then select the MVC Top 40 from the "Switch Sport" selector or click the link below:

How can you choose the four best players right now? It will change from game to game. Some people on here can probably choose their favorite players but four best is difficult.

Now the positive to this, and why Gregg loves this is unlike last year when Fred went down with his injury, no one defers to a star player and injuries will not deter this team. We will see if this makes us a better team in March but it may.

I had given Willis some well-deserved criticism for his seemingly butter-covered hands through the exhibition and first 2 games. Last night could not have been any more different. He was grabbing rebounds with two hands, and probably saved 2-3 turnovers on questionable entry passes that he latched on to. I had hoped the fumble-fingers was just early season nerves. If he can repeat last night, I will believe that 100%. In his post-game interview last night he also mentioned that his father had surprised him and came to see the first 2 games this weekend, so I wonder if that just amplified first-game jitters.

Pretty much agree with the others. McDuff, Reaves, Morris I've been most excited to when they are on the floor.

Willis probably gets my nod for 4th. Brown close 5th.

BTW, I loved the lineup with Reaves, Shamet, McDuffie, Willis and I think it was Nurger, but would love even more with Shaq.

The fact we put guards at 6'4 and 6'5 would cause Valley teams to commit Hari kari.
