It's time for the venerable SHOXMVC to speak...y'all have been waiting for it, don't fool yourselves. Gregg acted the fool in the moment. He completed the politically correct path by signing off on the public statement, blah, blah, blah and accepted the meaningless one game exhibition suspension. I don't know the man well at all...he and I have enjoyed 3 rounds of golf together and during that time we talked about family, our youth, passion for life and very little about Shocker basketball. He is likable, competitive, passionate and is very committed to the personality God pieced together for him. I would not trade him as our basketball coach for all the tea in China, but at the same time I acknowledge he is just as fallible as anyone with a pulse. It's ok for any of us Shocker FANatics to bust his balls for his failure in judgement during the McGill game. He acted like an immature baby. I'm over it, because I'm the furthest thing from perfect (I know, shocker) and have acted like an immature baby as an adult myself.

Shockernet is in mid season form, however. The usual suspects are fighting like sisters fight over cloths, jewelry and boyfriends. This thread is 28 pages long...about 24 pages longer than it should be. But crap, it wouldn't be SN if it made sense. Sorry for getting in the way of all the ***** slapping, so I will get a refill on my butter (with extra popcorn) and refill my Mr. Pibb and take my assigned spot in front of my monitor. Ironically, the very behavior you are condemning is the poor behavior you are exhibiting now. I wouldn't be surprised if Marshall said some of those same words out on the court.

1. Because it's free speech.
2. None of the targets of the behavior have complained to the mods (evidently they feel as if they are debating). Also known as "What's one man's trash is another man's treasure."
3. People evidently feel passionate about it and want to express themselves.
4. If you don't want to read it, you can always leave the thread.
5. You haven't been the target (yet).
6. It's amusing to me :)
7. Be careful about the standards you set for others, you might get hoisted on your own petard.

Note to everyone: If you can help me out with a few more, perhaps we can edit this and make it a 'Top 10 reasons the mods don't get involved in squabbles on Shockernet'.
