I don't remember that. I'll bet chicken fans hate him too.

He's also John Calipari. As good of a coach as Gregg is, he isn't John Calipari and I am speaking of coaching and celebrity status. Coach Cal coaches at the preeminent college basketball program in the country and he is working with officials that know him. Conversely Marshall pulled some Kenny Powers routine, with refs he doesn't know, in a place that has a different culture than us. And that culture puts a premium on being polite no less.

When Coach Cal did that he made Big Blue Nation look dumb. Big deal, they are Kentuckians and we already knew that. When Gregg Marshall got ejected he made a whole lot of people look bad (his family, WSU, the Missouri Valley, and the United States of America). He caused a foreign university to completely reevaluate their security protocols! Think about that for a second. The whole thing is comical and stuff. Nobody got hurt. But you have to wonder if a man does this is a totally irrelevant and fully meaningless game, what he could be capable of in real games. And also what must this guy be like in private? He is a powder keg and he is headed towards a Woody Hayes like end if he doesn't check himself.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! He couldn't make the MVC look any worse than it would without WSU. WSU is what keeps the MVC a top 20 conference. much less anywhere near the top 10.

Yes, that was the only part of your post worth responding to.

I keep reading this "polite culture" meme with regards to Quebec. I've never heard anything positive about French Canadians, particularly in the area of politeness. In fact, I've heard exactly the opposite.

"Reevaluate their security protocols". Did you see ANY security in that video or hear of any referenced in the written accounts of the incident? They had no security. The more accurate phrase would be "discuss whether they should have a security protocol".

We must keep in mind that Bears fans are accustomed to a coach who barely bothers to STAND UP during games.

I'm shocked that I have no recollection of this whatsoever, and I'm shocked that 6 months later this is still not front page national news.

I am embarrassed to be a college basketball fan. I now think Calipari reflects terribly on college basketball, and he has disgraced the University of Kentucky and the entire US higher education system. I hope he was fined and suspended and that he had to answer to all UK fans and university administration for his irrational, erratic, and childish behavior. This serves as yet another example that only cold, calculating, level-headed individuals who have low amounts of passion and excitement should coach or play college basketball.

I now have a COMPLETELY different opinion of Calipari and don't like him, the University of Kentucky, the State of Kentucky, the United States of America, wildcats, Lexington, and people named John anymore.

Would you mind sending Canada a secret envelope regarding security protocol?

                      Haha. Good point.

If Paul Lusk had done the same thing in the Bahamas probably nobody would have cared nationally. But it very well could be used as justification to fire him. Gregg Marshall gets a lot more leeway than other schools allow their ineffective or bad coaches. It's just how the world works. Nick Saban could put a ref in a rear naked choke hold until he was choked out and Alabama would still find a way to keep him.

That's because Gregg Marshall is not an ineffective or bad coach.

Let me help translate what RMS is saying.

"I have low behavioral expectations, both for myself and others, and I want to feel justified in my low standards. Since outright arguing for low standards is rather lame, I'll just be sarcastic to the point of utterly and completely exaggerating what those who disagree with me are saying until it becomes comical and nothing like their actual arguments."

It seems people with low standards really have a hard time comprehending the fact that not everyone sets the bar as low as they do.

                              • Tekele Cotton would dunk all over people and then merely turn and run back down court. Cold. Level-headed. Clearly too low on passion and excitement to play college basketball.
