Obviously, it isn't sitting well with some people. Lynn made an apology. WSU suspended Marshall for an exhibition game. Geez, I thought this was all a nothing burger?
Doing something for PR purposes in order to "appease" the masses of people that get offended too easily doesn't mean he deserves to be suspended or have to apologize.

Oh ok. But why does WSU care? Who cares?

You're a hopeless blind fan. It's fine. Marshall can't be portrayed badly, he can't make mistakes. There's always justified excuses. We get it. Keep em coming.

      • Interesting Article.

WSU apologizes to McGill. McGill admits that it uses exhibition to train referees.

Gregg Marshall’s ejection during an exhibition game in Canada led to feelings of “intimidation” and “aggression” towards the McGill University athletics staff

No just not someone willing to destroy a man for doing what was right because he felt like he was protecting his team. I'm not on the bandwagon that everything has to be PR. I'm sorry that Marshall intimidated the refs and they got out of their comfort zone. He didn't hurt them. The McGill players DID hurt his players.

Yes ... exactly. WSU can't call them out for having bad refs because that's bad PR. Better to just apologize then move on. Doesn't mean McGill isn't in the wrong too.

Destroy a man? LOL, I'm not destroying anybody. I'm saying what everybody is now saying with a half a pulse, including officials of the university: It was EMBARRASSING, and did not live up to the standards that you're supposed to represent the university with.

Wait. The McGill players hurt WSU players? Are you serious? Can I see some evidence of this?

Where the **** were you at on the game thread when all of this was happening? How come you're only making these blanketed statements after the fact? Why didn't you go on a tirade then if all of this threatening behavior was going on?

You're going way off the deep end, buddy.

                      • So, Marshall is suspended today. Sounds like a good move. The University does something, Marshall says he was out of line, and he gets to push another button to see how his players respond.

                        • The McGill AD also claims Marshall was verbally abusive to school employee, not a ref. If true, that is really uncalled for.

Gelinas described Marshall’s actions as intimidating and hostile and claimed that his rage continued after he left the game. According to Gelinas, Marshall wanted to stay close to the court so he could watch the game. He became hostile when he was forced to leave the court.
“There was another blowout, similar to what happened on the court,” Gelinas said. “He became quite aggressive. Foul language, nose-to-nose with one of my staff. My staff was not pushed or hit or anything like that. I’m not saying that. The attitude was quite aggressive, quite intimidating, using foul-language. Aimed at a staff who did not take part in the decisions on the court, in terms of the referee decisions.”

It might be a "meaningless" exhibition game, but watching on TV it looked like these asshole refs were allowing McGill to play rugby with us out there. Good for coach for standing up for his players and good for the players for responding.
HUUUUUUUGE difference between "standing up for your players" and what Marshall did. No excuses. Grown men don't act that way, and if they do in a moment of weakness, they come to their senses once tempers have settled down and they offer a sincere apology.

The school employee was asking for it, come on.

So they suspended him....is that enough for you or do you want your pound of flesh too? I think it is such a non-event and even McGill is willing to play WSU again so couldn't have been so embarrassing or damaging for HCGM.
