There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

One bit I can't find in either story on the topic - is it only the ticket price that's refundable, or do you get the scholarship fund donation back, too?

They were probably all just on the football forum.

Teams crowd funding jerseys for teams, now programs are offering money back guarantees on season tickets.

Get us out of this conference.

One poster had a pretty astute observation...
Interesting to see if this works. Nothing helps the budget like accounting for cash that you may or may not get to keep. If the pressure wasn't on Lusk before, it sure is now.

Not to be too much of a stickler on details, but their barn only holds 11,000. I think originally it was supposed to hold 13-15000, but budget shortfalls forced them to cut out the upper bowl in one end. That is why they have a plexiglass facade. Budget cuts also forced them to delay building locker rooms.

Maybe we should start telling them how awesome it is, you know, to throw them off and use a little reverse psychology.

Wait a second. I think this depends on just how much they have MO Valley'd their schedule.

From a pure marketing standpoint, I think it's a good move. You've got a disgruntled fan base, many of whom -- and now including long-time fans -- might be on the fence about renewing or purchasing season tickets. This is a nudge to push people into giving them another chance, knowing that if the team disappoints, they could, in theory, get their money back. In reality, very few of those people will take that step even if things go south.

All the rivalry-driven rhetoric aside, they have a nice on-campus arena and do a better job with promotions and event management than WSU (admittedly and very low bar). Would I like to burn it down and piss on the ashes? Yes. But it is a nice facility.
“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

I do think, based on where their program is right now, it's probably a good idea. But it's still an indicator of a struggling program.
