Dougie, couldn't have held X's jock strap. X was better defensively, on the boards, and was just as good offensively. X had a much better NBA career. I would have loved to have seen them go at it on the court.

The offense was built for him because he played a lot of minutes. But he led the nation in both scoring and rebounding (28/14). Probably better offensively?

This objectivity is becoming a politically correct disease. Some of his offense came from his domination of the boards but that counts too. X dominated players named Anderson and Third kill. Inside the lane was his to dominate. Just because X didn't shoot 3s very much (or well), he had the athletic ability to guard D M. Does anyone think that D M could guard X? I don't think so.

BTW, Cle had a monster game against UK. Not sure Doug could have changed the outcome if we had him for that game instead of Cle. Who knows what he would've given up on the other side of the ball.

Totally agree. In addition, Cle had another monster game against Louisville in the Final Four. Replacing Cle in those two games is absurd.

No doubt in my mind that we were as good, if not better, than the other 3 teams in the Final Four.

When teams are that closely matched, the difference between winning and losing can be as little as a bad bounce or just the opponent's fortuitous bank shot off the backboard.
